This is my own original concept for TDKR's Catwoman. When I first heard Catwoman would be featured in The Dark Knight trilogy, I was extremely excited, and I did what I always do- draw up my own vision of what I hope for. I've gotta say- I was a little disappointed of the Catwoman that was featured. As sexy as she looked, Nolan made such a point in the other Batman films to make them as real-world based as possible.
My version of Catwoman does not wear heels, as that would be impractical for a burglar, and she sports a backpack to carry what she steals. In my mind, this Selena Kyle would have robbed Wayne Enterprises- getting her hands on some of that tech and gadgets. She wears the same antennas as Batman to listen in on police frequencies, and when she puts her hood up, it gives that "cat ear" look. Her gloves have retractable claws that use sonic vibration to cut glass, and suction-cups on her palms, making it easy to cut into windows, jewelry cases, etc. She also has various tools strapped to her arms for picking locks, and a utility belt similar to Batman's. Instead of a whip, I imagined her with a grappling hook (as it makes more sense), and then gave her some shoulder and knee armor, as well as a textured "teflon" like suit. As for the look and coloring of the suit, I wanted her to look like she could be in the real world, but also classic, so I took inspiration from my favorite suits (shown below).
For the custom I used a Pheonix figure- removed her hair and painted her whole body with grey and a touch of purple. I then molded her entire hood/mask, shoulder & knee pads (using the handle of an x.acto knife for texture), belt, back-pack, and claw controls. I painted her gloves and boots with a glossy black, and the armor was done with silver that I drybrushed with black after. Painted the backpack, belt, and details on her claws, and then drew on her suit texture with a pen. To finish her off the grappling hook is just an accessory from a Star Wars ship.
