I've been getting good reception from my ship repaints, so figured I should keep going... This time we have the Aggressive ReConnaissance-170 Starfighter, or the A.R.C. 170 fighter featured in Star Wars Episode III. This ship was an early model of what later became an X-wing, and was flown by 2 clone pilots, a clone gunman, and an R-unit. There was really nothing wrong with the ship from Hasbro, it just seemed a bit matte and plain to me, and I wanted it to look a little more realistic, and that it had seen some action. First thing was, I wanted to make the metal look, well, metal....so I gave everything that was grey a black paint job following by a metallic silver dry-brush to give the gun metal look. Then I painted over all of the seams of the hull with black and then wiped clean, leaving the seams look a bit rusted and used. After that it was time for the battle damage... I did a lot of black dry brushing throughout, and even used a toothpick to get some of the scratches. Then I added some silver in spots to look as if the paint was ripped away, and gave the whole ship a shellac spray to give a slightly more metal ship look. Please wait... |

I went ahead and dusted it in black but it could stand some more accent work for sure. The bar has been raised sir!!!
