Here we have the second of my guardians of the galaxy team Groot! After the defeat of the Phalanx, Groot joined the Guardians of the Galaxy, a proactive peacekeeping team assembled by Star-Lord. As a member of the Guardians Groot has battled the likes of Blastaar, the living bomb-burst, the Badoon, the mighty Shi'ar, and the Inhumans. While in the company of Maximus of the Inhumans, it was determined that Groot was really speaking in a clear dialect, but due to his strange physical make up, his larynx and vocal cords are stiff and inflexible. So the hardest part Was deciding which look to go for as his look changes massively with every artist drawing him so I ended up doing a mix of his new and classic look with my own spin minus the lights! Groot is made mainly from a heavily modded manthing figure mixed with Lotr tree figure. First I took manthing and chopped off his head, and then had to completly reconstruct a new neck as man things origonal neck is in the middle of his chest almost! I then inserted a ball joint for the head and lengthened the legs with a mix of manthing and tree figure. His head is from a heroes figure with bits of lotr tree branches inserted and all the tree features face/ body etc. is sculpted let me know what you think guys!
