Man, 2012 went by fast. I remember just finishing my Dark Knight Returns Batman for the last Fwoosh Secret Santa and here I am again making customs for people I don't even know. And again with the DC Comics theme! This time it's Ragdoll, using 100% DCUC parts instead of a DC/ML mashup.
So yeah, the Doll is a GL Classics Black Lantern Abin Sur with lots of sculpt and paint. My two big goals this time: make him fit well with other Classics and turn the creepy factor up to 11. The first thing wasn't hard after I decided to use the Abin body. I just needed to make the paint job bright and as colorful as possible. The creepy part was a little tougher. Do you remember when David Hayter wrote the first script for the Watchmen movie? He wanted a Rorschack that didn't wear a mask. Instead Hayter invisioned him with long, greasy hair all over his face. That's what I wanted here, too. I think I made it look pretty good, though it's more visible on larger pictures on my FB page. Add to that the dirty cape thing, arms bending both ways (just had to get rid of his elbows) and we have a figure no other toy will want to stand on the shelf with. ![]() |
