He may be small, but his rage is LARGE! Red Lantern Glywon is the legendary cryptid known as the chupacabra. The name chupacabra comes from the reported habit of attacking and drinking the blood of livestock. While he currently resides on earth his true origins remain a mystery. Glywon received his ring when Atrocitus began sending rings across the universe to raise an army. Of course once he received his ring he went from sucking blood to spitting it. He has remained one of the most loyal and ruthless of the Corps. Physical descriptions of the chupacabra vary. It is supposedly a heavy creature, the size of a small bear. But Glywon would seem to be the exact opposite. A small lightweight creature, no bigger than a cat. An ambush predator, carnivorous and hungry. He'll hide motionless and wait for his fellow Red Lanterns to lead the enemy into his striking distance. And when that happens he leaves little behind. Base Figure: DCUC Wave 2 Dex-Starr Head: MIB 3 Stalk Eyes head. (Dremel was used to make head compatible) I repainted the head. Some of the repaint was full coat and other areas I tried dry brushing to leave some detail. I added a little blood to his teeth for effect. Hands: MIB 3 Stalk Eyes hands. I cut off Dex-Starr's hands and originally intended to dremel holes for the Stalk Eyes hands. But the arms were too skinny for any dremel pieces I have. So I had to improvise. I cut the pegs off of Stalk Eyes hands. Using a needle I made holes in the hands and arms to connect the two. Then used Krazy Glue to connect them. So the pin will provide support while the Krazy Glue does its job. Downside is no articulating. But I think they look great. Minor coat of paint to try and get a matching color on everything. With the hopes to leave some of the skin details intact. Feet: Dollar General cheap dinosaur feet. I ran into the same problem that came with doing the hands. So the pin and Krazy Glue job was done on the feet also. Minor repaint to match his head. Tail: I would have liked to not have given this guy a tail. I thought he looked cool without one. But I ran into two problems with that. First off Dex-Starr's ring is on his tail and I was not confident in my ability to make such a small ring for this guy's hand. Second the dinosaur feet won't stand him up so a tail was needed for balance. I wanted to give him a more reptilian looking tail but I couldn't find anything that would work. So I opted for a repaint of Dex-Starr's tail. (Maybe i'll change it if I run across a better option) Thoughts: Well what can I say? This guy had his moments. I originally wanted to use the original skin color of the head but matching the tail paint was hard. So I opted for a green repaint over everything, trying to leave minor areas where you can see the original skin. The hands were originally going to be just glued but they fell off. So I did some brainstorming and came up with the pin and glue option you read about above. This guy took time but I was determined to finish him because the head looked so darn cool on the base figure. Tell me what you think guys. ![]() |
