Narnia Dryad (Fantasy) Custom Action Figure
Although I can't see a use for it in my Narnia battle diorama set, I added this dryad to my Narnia range, because I am victim of her charm. I created this figure this way: I prepared a silicon mold of a female figure (only head and trunk, only front side) then casted a copy in green stuff and glued that to copper wires for the arms and to steel wire for a basing. Then cover with vynil glue and a layer of woodland scenics fine turf on head and trunk, plus a ready-made WS turf foliage. Surprisingly, Face details are still recognizable. Enjoy! P.S.: I added some movies shots to show the character as it is in the movie and a concept drawing from the Narnia designers' artwork. Please wait... |

A note: I saw the dryad concept in the beautiful book 'the crafting of narnia', an hetereal creature made of leaves blown by the wind. Something very particular, and very hard to reproduce in scale with solid means. That is what came out from my insane mind and swinging hands; but I must say I am quite glad of it, may be my best model ever. Damn, If I only had purple foam turf ....!!!
I must say, you did an awesome job of capturing her.
