I'm on a bit of a tmnt repainting kick, following up Dogpound with Metalhead. I love the new Metalhead that Playmates put out. I think it's a terrific figure, but I just couldn't resist making him a little more show accurate. While it was tempting to paint him over with a more metallic wash, I decided not to because I really like the look of the original matte gray paint job. I did, however, paint all of the little nuts and bolts on him, continued the yellow on the sides of his head band, painted his shell to look more like the manhole cover from the show, and painted the sides and shoulders of his torso the appropriate colors. I also gave the little piece of kraang tech on his head a little magenta glow to show he's "activated". The hardest part was probably adding the checker pattern on his right leg band. So many little squares... All done with acrylics.
