I have always liked robots and this toys mold definitely screamed out to me, but the paint job was so horrible that I thought he would be a good first try for me.

No problem and if you are worried about chips I would definitely suggest a thin coat of Krylon Clear Coat satin or gloss, after it cures it is as hard as rock. Planning on buying some as insurance for my customs.

Because you asked, I went and tried to scratch off some paint on his chest and didn't anything. Good thing to or I would have been crying. I have transformed him a couple of times and have not seen any chips, so all is well.

Very carefully. J/K I first got out my Aves Fixit sculpts and filled in all the screw holes and sanded uneven areas. Then I let the little guy take a dip in degreaser to get all sqeaky clean. Next gave him a couple of powder coats of black satin Krylon Fusion Spray paint and let cure/set for 24hrs. I used Tamiya paints and started with a drybrushing of dark silver, then a lighter brushing of medium silver. Then highlighted specific areas with various metallics including chrome for the chest windows. Finished him off with a little bit of blue for the eyes and he was done. I like Tamiya but as of right now my set of Reaper master paints are in the mail so hopefully my paint apps will be even better and smoother. Thanks for asking AGM, I did not realize how much work I put into him.

I'm sure it looks better than it did originally (I know nothing about Transformers), but what's really impressive to me is your pictures. They're really clean and nice, like Kyle and Jin's pictures
