This Alloy custom is based on Alex Ross' Kingdom Come. I love this character and realized he probably won't be made, so I took matters into my own hands. I took a 12" Hal Jordan Green Lantern, cleaned it, razor bladed TONS of hair off of his head, dremmeled his mask off, sculpted the smooth, somewhat square look of his head as well as sculpting over his facial features. I then took some apoxy fix-it and cut strips with straight edges and put them on the body where the various metal plates overlap. I kept one side straight, while pressing down the other side giving the illusion of metal plates. I created the rivets with a skewer and then I sanded. I followed the BEST metallic paint tutorial ever (big thank you to Kyle Robinson!)which you can find in this site's tutorial section. Finally I found two red, square costume jewels of appropriate sizes and used a bench grinder to turn them into hexagons. I glued them in place and Alloy came to life!

This one will be in my collection for the foreseeable future. Definitely the most fun I have ever had on a custom, and the most rewarding.
