So I've Repainted one and reworked another... NOW it all comes together. I have made a successful cast of both the previously displayed head as well as the helmet custom fitted to that head. Battle Damaged Robocop never looked so good. First we made the Peter Weller likeness from a The Miz WWE figure. Then we fitted it to the Robocop neck base. Now we have sculpted the top half of the head as well to reveal the cyborg part of the head. Once completed the entire piece was molded and cast (24 hour mold cure time, 5 minutes to cast). Since the original neck post was not tampered with the neck fits right in to the original figure. A little dremelling and its as good as stock. The helmet was fitted by taking my first cast and wrapping the head in hobby vinyl. I heated it up to stretch over the head creating "tents" over all the features. This made the "locks" that would hold the helmet in place once cast. so I took the wrapped head and held it in place in the helmet mold taken directly from the figure. I let it sit until solid and POP!!! Out came my head with perfectly fitted helmet. I removed the vinyl from in between and now I have a helmet that snaps into place as many times as I like. I DID IT!!!!... My wife's overjoyed. ![]() |
