My first custom figure was in 1998, when I decided to make Rebecca Chambers from Resident Evil as a Toy Biz action figure to be included with the rest of the Toy Biz Resident Evil collection. I was inspired by not only the game, but when Toy Fare magazine had exclusive mail in figures that companies made for fans by reusing existing parts, so I thought it would be a great idea to make a figure that could be made into a Toy Fare exclusive. The challenge was that the figure parts were to be made entirely from Toy Biz figures and nothing else. I used a Jill Valentine body, since it's the same kind of outfit without the shoulder pads. I then used a X-men vs. Streetfighter Rouge head to give it the anime face, not to mention the headband, with a piece of fabric for the headband straps. The lower legs are from a Strife figure, which had straps that, if painted, look like capri pants and shoes. the hair was hard to find but I managed to use a Jean Grey figure's hair to complete it. The gun came from a Laura Croft figure released around the same time. For added detail, I also kept the emblem on the shoulder while painting the figure (which I know she's from the B.R.A.V.O. team, but it still looked better as is than having to paint a tiny emblem). It took me a month, but I managed to make not only my first custom figure from Toy Biz parts for Toy Biz figures, but it's currently the only Rebecca Chambers figure in existence that I know of. What do you think? UPDATE: turns out that a Japanese company called MobyDick had released a Rebecca Chambers figure some couple years ago. Yet, it looks more like a complete Jill Valentine figure repaint (even keeping the beret) than the figure I mostly used with just that character's body. Oh well. Please wait... |

The reason the Moby Donk figure had the beret was because RE: Zero had just come out and she was sporting one in that game.
Thanks for the feedback. I wish that they made more characters from the first game, which was why I made this figure. Unfortunately, this was the only Toy Biz Resident Evil toy I completed, because even though there was more I originally planned on making, it turns out that they're slightly smaller than most Toy Biz figures, even the parts were barely interchangeable with most Toy Biz figures parts ( the Rogue head I used for Rebecca here is a bit bigger than both heads of Chris and Jill in comparison, which was why I placed this figure behind Chris). Still, I did like making this figure, so I'm glad that it was my first
