Before I start I wanna thank ViperPrime, if it wasn't for his awesome Venom custom inspiring to me to customize figures, this figure wouldn't exist! :3 So this is my version of Venom from the Spider-Man 3 movie. The released Venom figures from Hasbro came nowhere near to the unique look he had in the film! So I wanted to do what ViperPrime did, if you want something done right, do it yourself, so that's what I did. ;) I started with a basic Iron Fist figure and covered him in Apoxie Sculpt. then (My best idea ever) I took a small Allen Wrench and started to create a legit honeycomb texture with it! Came out fantastic! Then I began to sculpt the webs, (using the Medicom Venom figure for reference along with stills from the film.)When all the webs were placed, (Well most of 'em) I sculpted the Spider emblem! This is what I really wanted to get right since it should be very big and noticeable! It took me quite a while to get it right (Symmetry wise but I'm pleased with what came out.) Then Venom's face came next (Probably the most unique-est part of the SM3 version Venom. He looks almost scrawny by the way he looks and I really dug the look of him in it! So I started to make Iron Fist's original head larger with Apoxie Sculpt repeated the process of honeycombing and what not, I "drew" the eyes with a safety pin and did the outline of the mouth and sculpted the teeth (Wooden toothpicks weren't doing it for me). So for a second I was pleased with his body the face needed more work but then I noticed his, hands looked off! Iron's Fist hands looked totally wrong on this guy, so I found a "Sin City Kevin" figure and pulled off his awesome clawed hands I modified Iron's Fist's lower forearms with a dremel in order to make holes to place Kevin's hands in then I repeated the usual process! Time later VOILA! Venom was completed, then I painted him flat black (Tamiya) dry brushed in silver and added a coat of gloss sealer to give him a "wet symbiotic" look. He was pretty much done from there! :3 I had one heck of a time making this guy! I want to thank ViperPrime for inspiring me one more time, I really hope that I've gotten close enough to what he has done, but I really wanted to replicate the movie's version of Venom, And I think I actually have the perfect height for this guy if next to a Spidey figure, he's not towering over Spidey like in the comics but he's a tiny bit taller! ;)
