Batman Version 2 (DC Universe) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:4390
Name:Batman Version 2
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:DC Universe
Creator:Truwe 316
Date Added:October 8, 2007
Base Figure:DC Superheroes Batman Series 7
Height:6.00 inches
I wanted to make a Batman that would be more realistic and have more articulation. I loved the colors of the series 7 Batman as the gray is a little lighter than the original figure. I really did not like the hands at all, so they were replaced with modified Captain America hands with fins from the original Batman figure. I wanted the figure to have more flexibility in the legs so I cut off the belt and replaced the front pouches with pouches from a Bullseye figure.
I have to credit my girlfriend with some of the ideas behind this figure. This is the first Batman figure that I have made with a short cape but she posed the question, "If Batman had a long cape in real life, wouldn't he choke himself or trip himself if he took a step back in a fight?" It was an excellent point but the other challenge she presented was for a realistic figure, shouldn't I fill in the holes for the joints. So this was a first for me and I was pleased with the way that it turned out and the paint match on the gray. Let me know what you think.

Base: DC Superheroes Series 7 Batman
Hands: Marvel Legends Series 8 Captain America
Belt: DC Superheroes Series 3 Batman modified and combined with Marvel Legends Bullseye pouches
Cape: Cowl from Attack Armor Batman and the cape is from curtain material

Actually, the only point of the weighted tips is so Batman can use the cape as a weapon. No matter what is at the bottom of the cape, if it's too long anyone will still trip over it.
yeah, but those tips would also keep the cape dragging along behind him so it would be (nearly) impossible for him to trip. DORX UNITE!

I thought about it, but I felt that if I made the cape wrap around that it would take away from the detail of the figure, like the belt for example.

Why does it seem nobody ever does a Batcape that wraps around the front of the figure?

Variable Penguin, the cape is wide, its just a bad pic. It actually wraps itself around the side of the figure, I took your ironing advice from Toy Soup so that it is actually wider than what it looks. I wish I would have put the pic from behind on instead. Oh well. But I do need to thank you VP because I would have never thought of the cape unless I took your advice, so thanks.

I agree superb bat custom in every way except the cape - needs to be a lot wider
if you wire the cape with craft wire along its edges and hem it you can then pose the cape in any position
just a tip
but sweet custom dude

I really like this, except the cape. It seems too small. Just my view. Maybe if it were a few inches wider and you ironed folds into it along the points.

I wish I had more of those Captain America gloves and the Movie Reed, they're great for almost everything! I hope they become more common...
Great job, this is one of my favorite Bat-customs so far. And yeah, Bat's cape would probably more wide than long, long capes are impractical for crime-fighting.
