I remember these figures as the 1989 Tim Burton Batman movie came out. The Kenner figures shortly afterwards left these in the dust sculp wise but you have to have a special place in your heart for these figures. I remember getting a Bob the Goon and customizing one with a head from the Robocop figure line in order to make more goons for the Joker.

oh here's some trivia..notice both Penguins are the same sculpt? But one is from Batman Returns and one from the Super Heroes line. The Batman Returns one was meant to be the Danny Divito version of the Penguin but Kenner chose to reproduce the Super Heroes version instead.

When Batman returns came out in theatres, McDonalds in Australia had some nice figurines of the movie likenesses as part of the movie promotion. They weren't action figures but the heads and shoulders were in scale with the figures of the time. The Penguin was a great likeness of Danny Divito. If you can find one you've got a headstart on a custom movie Penguin in this scale. Good luck.

believe it or not the Aussie McDonalds figurines were much better than the Applause ones but they're really tough to find today, I haven't seen them on ebay for years. The Applause keychain heads would work but you'll need to be clever with the paintjob. cheers.
