I'm missing a Mr Zsasz from my Batman Rogues Gallery, and decided to try my hand at making one - the prospect of having to carve all those scars was what put me off the idea at first. Well, I've cheated a little and painted the scars on instead, first in black and then in red to give a bit of an illusion that they're raised. The base figure was a DCUC Kamandi, whose belt I'd earlier ripped out for a Cassandra Cain Batgirl custom. I filled in the gap with epoxy putty, and swapped the head out for a Col. Quaritch head from the Avatar Movie Masters line(that I had earlier used as a Ra's Al Ghul head) with sculpted and painted hair and eyebrows, as well as a bit of a black wash around the eyes. I used some sculpt to make his neck a little larger as it was too thin before. All the skin then needed a repaint too, before the scars could go on. I repainted the pants orange so they look like they were once part of a prison jumpsuit - it was really difficult getting the orange paint on. Zsasz's knife was a combat knife accessory from a Toys R Us military figure pack (those figures are great for their accessories), with some painted-on blood for added effect. Thanks for looking!

UPDATE: My friend suggested that I go over the custom with some shading to bring out the scars a little more, a la 3bcustoms (who did a great 3.75 inch scale Zsasz). Hopefully I didn't go overboard with the black wash, and it looks better now.

As that "friend", I've gotta say, it came out really nicely. Love the detail on the scars and the eyes.

Heh - there's an idea! Thank you Rogue. Yeah, the Kamandi figure may be one of the goofiest DCUC figures around, but given some work it can go a long way. Thanks once again!
