I was like, fine i'll just mod him a little bit... WELL little did I know! Let's play the game again and try to guess "What did I do on this figure!"(audience clap) Where correct answers grant fake points that are worth nothing at all! (although it would be simpler to guess which part of Chris Evans I did NOT touch with my tool ; well, thanks everyone for playing! i'll try to explain the mods i've done, although pictures would be much easier and looking at the pics i selected they do not show a lot of things XD so you can find me in fb, i'm Hugo Dourado, the good looking one :) Well, first lemme defend Hasbro a bit. I think it's a very good figure (all the Avengers are) And i think any inaccuracies come from concept, I'm pretty sure they did the best with the material they had. They probably had to sculpt the characters before the actors did even get in suit. And of course there's cost issues that we know why we custom paint :) that said, let's get to the "recipe" Ok. The unmasked head - I just sculpted from scratch. Like, put some putty over the neck and spent hours till i decided it was recognizable enough and not spend the rest of my life on it :) Masked head - i like the likeness on the original, but there are some things that can be improved, like the helm looking like its on top of his head and not part of his skull and the jaw being too long. so, re-sculpted it entirely on top (A, wings)also details on the back and side that are not present and you cannot see on these pics (XD i amaze myself) which gets us to the... Neck - puny neck he had, some mass to it, so his head doesn't look so far from it on the side (a picture would really help...look at your figure or head up to a cap review) interesting thing on the neck is also my decision to not make a hanging cowl for the unmasked head, since they cheated it on the movie, he would have to have an alternate neck too (in the movie he's got fabric that goes into the metal helm, but when he is unmasked, they just pretend it's a complete cowl - well, anyway, blue neck and skin neck - I decided to give him in between, so it feels like - ah, whatever, you all just hate me for not making a the hanging cowl now that i mentioned :) Torso - chest - very important area to show one's mass, but usually mistakenly (used), making a batman TAS look, i cut in to give him the silhouette chris worked so hard to be able to indulge us with inverted (upside down) shoulder balls so they're more outwards (coincidence) and sculpted over them V thingies on top - those are flexible, just like my cape technique - EVA heat molded by hand, but also sculpted the chest and trap patterns (with texture) to match seamlessly then the back (that you can only see on my fb) with everything re-sculpted to match his movie appearance belt - YES - you though we wouldn't notice HASBRO, but I did, you gave us only 2 pouches each side(4) when there are actually 4(8)(I only did 3 (6)cause they're over sized and wouldn't fit, and i like them oversized, and didn't want to re-do all of them XD) arms - did anyone notice his gloves are like, backwards? i turned the hands, gaunts aligned to back (i was lazy, but one could add an articulation point there) and re-sculpted to match movie design, also, i wanted to give him a "commanding hand" so i put a metal pin on both his index and middle on the right and since the hand is so rubbery, you could say they're kinda articulated (well, not really, but i had both pointing and bent middle back a bit later for a more natural trigger hand) crotch - well, i don't wanna get into the nasty details, but if you seen the hasbro figure, you know there's a bit too much hanging there :) so, re-sculpted and butt (yes, important - see chest) legs - again silhouette, he's got more stretchy than baggy pants, so, re-sculpted, also, his knees sit upside down originally (check you figure) instead of looking like \ they look like / (XD) you can tell on the first pic - i fixed them cutting from the lower legs - that the boots sit too high, his boots shouldn't end right under his knees, but a bit below (and they have like a loooong nothing happening in the middle, seems almost like they extend them) so, yeah, i didn't really want to, but i would not be able to live with myself if i didn't - i re-sculpted the boots whole, well, not the soles and the tip of the foot, and pants pattern from boots to knee hmmm, is that it? i guess, idk, check the pic on fb and lemme know if there was something i forgot or you didn't understand and thanks again for looking! :) ps: HASBRO...i'm getting impatient, i don't really WANT to make a mark VII, will i HAVE to? (i'd really rather make a mech test tony stark @_@) ![]() |

thx man!
It was all worth it, as the final product is a certified artwork. Very nice brother.
your appreciation is very appreciated
- The entire legs
- The entire crotch
- Both ball joints
- Every part of the boots including the straps
- Not his chest but his shoulders, collar bone and his scapula area?
- The silver zippers on his shoulders
- You sculpted on the back of his wrist cufffs t put in those seams
- You sculpted over all the joint holes
- The collar you sculpted
- You swapped his hands
- That doesn't look like the original head but you sculpted under his eyes and almost every part of the helmet -- and the unmasked head looks sculpted over but you did his hair
- Last you painted him and even put those blue patterns in his hands.
Did I miss any?
the best work is the obvious that you can't point out huh? :P
thank you

And I'm glad Capt wasn't hurt in the filming of your gag.
