-This one was pretty straight forward for me. I was not happy with a lot of the Robin John Blake customs I saw, because they kept portraying him as Nightwing, Red Robin, Robin, etc - and Nolan, at the end of the movie, makes it very clear - Blake becomes The Batman. It says "The Dark Knight Rises" at the end, as the new Dark Knight is rising. It's about the legend of the Dark Knight - a theme seen throughout the entirety of the trilogy (though I will confess - MANY of the customs I've seen have been stellar - though they've not been Blake as Batman).
-I did, however, homage the Nightwing-blue. I picked the spots that are blue specifically, because they were heavily armored. They're the places someone like Blake (lacking a lifetime of training) would want to draw attention. Things like police, tactical-training that he's had, would all come in handy, but ultimately he'd need advantages like highlighted pieces of armor to catch a criminals eyes (as their eyes would naturally be drawn to what they can see the best, and would thereby, more than likely, shoot at it). That's the angle I addressed the color scheme from.
-It's an The Dark Knight Rises Batman figure, and the head of a John Blake swapped on.
-I hollowed out the head of The Batman figure, and put it in Blake-Batman's hand. I liked the idea of him holding the mask and semi-homaging the scene in China from The Dark Knight. It really completed the figure for me.
-I added a pseudo-backpack on the back - one that's far more simple than the one Bruce wore in The Dark Knight. Again, lacking a lifetime of training, Blake probably wouldn't be game to use the cape the same way Bruce would - nor would he want it flapping around behind him. I also doubt he'd have Alfred & Lucius to help repack the cape - so I saw it as a "break in case of emergency" piece of equipment. I figured he'd develop his own backpack, as part of the suit.
-In the backpack, is the cape. I removed the existing cape, and used a cape from an old-school Batman figure (so it looked like it does, when the current to solidify it, is not running through it). I fed the cape into the holes the actual cape left, and then cut it to fit the backpack, as there was no need of excess fabric.
-Ultimately then, it was just painting, touch up, and more painting.
-I don't think my camera is doing the figure as much justice as I'd prefer. It's a small mega-pixel camera that doesn't capture the details as well as some better camera's will (I wanted to post 3 pics). Nonetheless - this is at least the direction I think Blake would take the Dark Knight legend. Thanks for checking it out.

Great work with the electric blue, and the pouch on his back. It comes together a lot more naturally than my Nolanverse Nightwing custom.

Thanks for the feedback folks. Much appreciated!

I have a bunch of other pics via twitpic that are a lot more detailed and do the figure much more justice. AllStarBatman is the twitpic handle. Thanks!

Nicely done! for better pictures, even with a crappy camera, I've found that setting up a piece of black fabric over a box and having a light directly over the figure helps a ton with pictures. Awesome figure!

I really like this. It's not the most complicated custom ever, but you did put thought into it and it's logical. And, I am one of the people who also agrees that Blake wouldn't become "Robin" (why would he call himself his real name?!), he would become BATMAN. That's the whole point, Batman is NOT a person he is a symbol.

But, I do have to disagree with you on one thing, I think that Lucius is still in the know that Blake is the new Batman. Bruce planned it all out. He had a new batsignal made, he had the Wayne estate made an orphanage (which Blake is most likely running now), and he left Blake the gps coordinates of the batcave. He almost certainly left Lucius a note saying, "Yo, Blake is the new Batman. Back him up, and give him all the toys that you gave me. Including the new Bat."
