The first Herald of Galactus. This is apparently a very common recipe for this guy. Which, is highly understandable. I realized after I posted him elsewhere, that I should have used gloss instead of flat black over the body. The hair itself came out how I intended, but his body could definitely have used more of a shine. lol But, even that considered, I still think he looks pretty well. He was a last minute decision, but I've been wanting to make at least one Herald for a while now. I may make more. My Galactus needs at least one Herald by his side. Maybe one balanced in each hand. lol

I've not done much custom figure work, but I've done collision repair and painting on cars for over 30 years. If you're going to go back into the figure to give it that ethereal "shiny" look, might I recommend a blue pearl overwash (blue pearl powder suspended in clear)? This guy is meant to look like he was borne out of the blackness of space, much like Captain Universe, and that should do the trick. Love the figure though...and I'm a huge fan of Silver Surfer, Galactus, and anything related.

Thanks mate. I've actually already redone him. That's my v2 posting of the figure. He has a bluish shine, but it just doesn't show up in the pictures. He did come out with a nice resemblance to the comics. Thanks for the tip, though.

I ripped it off the head and painted it steel, then coated it fully with clear blue to give it the metallic blue look. Put some white spots on that happened to bleed out perfectly. Then, I did a light layer of testors dullcote that had various reactions dependiing on how it settled. Some places are still glossy, some are dull, and in some the steel bled back through, which looks really cool when it happened behind the white. So, it gave it that nice starry type look.
