Bane (Movie Inspired) (Batman - Dark Knight Rises) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:41374
Name:Bane (Movie Inspired)
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Batman - Dark Knight Rises
Creator:Banner/HULK Inc.
Date Added:July 31, 2012
Base Figure:Neca Duke Nukem
Height:7.00 inches
Here's the masked man who broke the Batman and threatened to nuke Gotham City in the Dark Knight Rises movie.

He was played well by Tom Hardy. But this version shows how Bane would've looked if they had cast a taller 7 foot tall actor (like Nathan Jones).

It's just a head switch of a Mattel Movie Masters Bane figure with Neca Duke Nukem. Not a lot of painting, only on the shirt and gloves. If you've seen my other customs, you know I like to come up with simple ones like this that still achieve the desired effect without adding too much.

Thanks to kumajinno0 for making a Bane from this base figure before, so I got the idea to try this.

I was able to remove Bane's head and peg using the boil and pop off method. The head has a hole big enough to fit onto the Duke Nukem neck peg rather well. Hope it works out for you.

Mr?...thank you for the tip...I'll check a few wrestling figures out for suitable hands. I'm sure I can at least find a closed fist among them. I was also eyeballing the hands on the original Mattel DC Superheroes Bane. The NECA Dutch I've seen is the one covered in mud from the "come on what are you waiting for?" part of the Predator film but I'm sure NECA will release a "clean" Dutch as well. Come to think of it..that's a pretty good base for a movie style Bane as well. So far I think Banner has nailed it with the Duke Nukem base. The proportion is right for the Movie Masters Bane head, the sculpt around the neck, the shoulders..it's a great fit.
Cheers.

I agree fastfreddie, the Mattel Bane is too small and we sure do like the bigger figures. Thanks for the compliments.

This is a great Bane!! If you had a fist hand it would be even cooler! Although this way, you can reenact the scene where Bane does something to Batman

off hand (no pun intended) maybe a NECA Bulletstorm right gloved right hand and a Guile fist left hand? The Guile figure has a variant with a naked closed left fist? You inspired me to work on the same custom so I'm thinking of ideas to replace the Duke Nukem hands which are just alittle too graceful for Bane. Otherwise I may bite the bullet and dremmel some Mattel or Hasbro hands to fit.
Also..if anyone has any ideas for the lower legs to have military/wrestling style boots?

Banner...I'm a little on the ADD side with my customs..I work on different ones at once as I feel like it. I'm hoping to start putting some up on http://www.figurerealm.com soon.
I tend to keep with your philosophy...use existing parts, switch them around and a nice paint job. Right now I'm working on turning a Brightest Day Mattel Green Arrow into a GI Joe Storm Shadow while I'm starting on the Bane you inspired..see what I mean? A.D.D.
For me..yours is the best movie style Bane custom I've seen so far because I don't need it movie accurate..just "movie-esque" to fit in with similar scaled Batman figures I have.
By the way...try repainting some NECA Army of Two figures and putting different heads on them for some great movie style mercenaries..yeah I've tried that.
I'm keeping my Movie Masters Batman figures in a seperate display (by the way..just got the movie Ra's al Ghul..nice).
I'd make some personal tweaks on what you've done as I noted earlier but you got the ball rolling with great imagination and painting. Sorry to rattle on...Nice work Banner your work has inspired people and that's the best compliment.

AvengerKiller: from my experience with the duke nukem base I would say that most of wrestler figures hands will look good on him, and about the pants with military boots the only figure I can think of now is NECA´S dutch. it's not out yet, but since it's NECA I'm sure it will be on the same scale as duke nukem, I think it's going to be released in a couple of months

Great job. I toyed with the idea of using the Duke Nukem base myself and you may have convinced me..you've done a great job. I use the same principle you do..I try to use existing parts to create a new figure and keep sculpting and painting to a minimum. Thank you for the inspiration.
