Juggernaut (Marvel Legends) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:41109
Name:Juggernaut
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Marvel Legends
Creator:GrownNerd
Date Added:July 22, 2012
Base Figure:ML6 Juggernaut, Marvel Select Avengers Hulk
Height:8.75 inches
I mashed together an ML6 Juggy with a Marvel Select Avengers Hulk. This guy has got pretty good joint ranges for his size. His helmet is removable due to transferring Juggy's head, traps, and helmet harness over to the MS Av. Hulk. I thought about transferring just the helmet harness thing and the head and keeping the Hulk's neck/traps intact, but the harness wouldn't have fit right and the head would sit too tall for the helmet to be put on. It was easier to cut out and inset everything involved in the Jugs helmet/head assembly than it would have been to try to modify the Hulk's parts for the harness to fit correctly.

Thanks guys.

Huh. I updated the photos with ones where I fixed the skinny ankle/foot junctions but the photos aren't showing up while the new http://www.ebay.com link does show up. Weird. Anyway, they're subtle differences so maybe it's not important, though I do wish the new photos would show up since whatever shows up are for posterity as well. I did post Before/After shots of the ankle fix at my Fwoosh gallery if anyone is curious about the difference.

Definately better. I thought that before, but far be it from me to criticize the Grand Pappy! Updated entries have to get approved just like new submissions. They take some time, but once they go up, the photos change over to the new ones. How are ya liking the Realm so far? Have you spent any time around here before you registered?

I used to lurk the Realm's discussion board a bit some years ago. It was before they split the customs section out into the showcase format like they have now. I remember that confused me because I was so used to the navigating style of discussion boards, so I stopped lurking. From time to time after that I went to look in the Realm's discussion board but it seemed to be pretty slow so I didn't visit much. Before registering here I didn't look around the Realm's custom showcase at all, only coming here from direct links outside, because like I said its navigation confuses me a bit. But with a bit of encouragement from other Fwooshers who are members here as well, I registered and started to explore. I still am exploring past customs posted here. Now that I'm getting used to it, I like the format. It's different and has strong points that the Fwoosh doesn't have, and the Fwoosh has strong points that this doesn't. So the two complement each other well.

Thanks for welcoming me. And thanks for the info on the updates. I see the updated photos now. Man, I can be such a newb about internet things sometimes...or actually, most of the time.

Thanks Skiman. To tell you the truth if I had to redo that Zabu again I don't think I'd be able to either. Half the time while I was doing him I was stumbling through it. It was luck and mostly good fodder more than any skill of mine since I had failed at two prior attempts at a Zabu when I didn't have the same fodder.

perfect! just perfect! I wish I had the skills to pull this off. How does he compare with other ML or MS figures when standing at full height?

Very nice. I love when you kitbash things together to make a much better figure. I'm sure it was much more work to do the helmet and head the way you did but it really pays off. Great job.

This is fantastic, you are amazing with blending cut and shut work. I love it and can't wait to see what you do with the ankles to get over the toybiz paddle feet. I would totally steal this recipe if I had the guts. Nice work.

Thanks guys.

Well, after some comments at the Fwoosh pointing out the skinny ankle connections, I decided to take down the http://www.ebay.com listing he was on and I'm going to go in and try to fix those ankle/foot spots. I'll put up revised photos and relist when I'm done.

wow!
I have to wonder if you're going with a replacement or a rebuild like phin mentioned at the fwoosh. I'm quite interested in what you're going to do with it!

Pulpy, I'm going to build up the feet like Phinny said, add some sculpt to the ankles to bring them down, and probably dremel certain spots around the ankles to taper them some. That's the plan anyway, I'll just have to wing it as I go.

I have like 3 pairs of these lower leg/foot because I didn't like the ankle/foot area. I would love to put them to use, and will be totally checking out yours and taking notes.
Also thanks for the heads up on the nails of my hulk. I tried doing a light wash to mimic what my nails do, but I'm now thinking it's not enough to make a difference. I have an idea of something I did before using a coloured gloss finish, that also mimic the nails natural shine. I'm going to try that and throw some photos up at the fwoosh.

This Juggy looks Incredible bro! The way you did the traps is brilliant! It was a pain to mod the one I did. Totally different base. That Avengers Hulk gives a very menacing proportion and musculature to the mix! It all looks so clean! Seamless work bro!

Your master-craft frankensteining worked out amazingly! You got those really nice ML arms to fit so nice proportionally, and as a fan of the MS avengers Hulk sculpt, I really like how you used it here.
