Really missing the days of TOY BIZ’s Marvel Legends and wanting to make a stellar figure for a good friend’s birthday is what led me to creating Lady Loki.

First I must say it is hard to pin point a 100% look for Loki’s femme form. Various changes with ornamentation and colors in the costume changes between artists in each book she appeared in. This made me go for a mixture f tuff I thought looked good together for the character.

For the basic body I started with the obvious a DC Direct Brightest Day Mera, which is one beautiful female figure I must add, although a little bit under-articulated for me. To give her double leg joints (a must have) I used the groin and legs of Hope Summers Marvel figure.

Next the head which was that of an Infinite Crisis Wonder Woman. I just had to retool the forehead with a new headpiece. To do this I got a hook up with an Avengers movie Loki helmet. I cut it up and reshaped it to fit and repositioned the horns. Next her hair decoration. I used the pvc tree from a Gundam model join cut into small circles.

Fusing Hope’s lower torso with Meras upper half was the first step on the torso. Just some fix it sculpt and some sanding that was it. The unique belt was fabricated by using various straps and belts from my parts box and the front loin cloth of Mystique, which I dyed green.

Articulation was greatly needed in the arms, Mera only had two on each! I turned her hinge join elbows into swivel joints by using joints from Hope’s feet I wasn’t gong to use anyway! I then cut the original hands off and drilled a hole in each wrist for Hasbro ML Elektra’s interchangeable hands. Then topped that off with Hope’s gauntlets

Needed something unique on the lower leg armor. So I cut the small face/medals out of LCBH Conan’s loincloth dremeled them until they were paper-thin and used them in the center of each knee pad’s armor. The feet had to go and so Black Queen’s feet came in handy. I used Japanese Hobby Base joints to connect the feet to the legs and drilled the hole in the foot at an angle so she can tilt her feet also.

The base was very simple and a must to make a connection to my love of older Toy Biz ML stuff. It was a Devilman Silene figure’s with a sculpted crater for a Thor hammer I had lying around. Some dry brush painting and washes and it was finished way before the figure itself.

Now the real pain in the butt was the cape. I tried in vein to use a plastic one. In planning it I realized it would limit all the articulation above the waist. So I moved to soft goods one made in two parts. The first part, a”C” shaped piece that goes around the neck and over the shoulders. To keep it in pace I used a flexible metal tube inside it to hold it over the shoulders better. This part was not sewed together I used glue to hold it together this was just to give it weight and help shape it better to drape over the shoulders. The larger part of the cape a somewhat heart shape was all hand sewed by me. I added a loop made of thread around the top so it would hand ff her neck. I was determined to not glue any part of the cape to her body, that would be lazy. As for the faux fur, this stuff is crazy! I had to trim it about half its length and it shed EVERYWHERE. To stop that I came up with a mixture of hair product and glue to tame that crazy mane in place. It worked very well and I am very happy with the results. So going to use this again!

Gold paint, some touch ups and some of the wickedest makeup I have done pretty much seals this custom up!

As my first 6-incher in a long time this was for sure a fun learning experience and was very fun working on a present that is very much appreciated. For more of my WIPS and customs checkout my Facebok artist page!
