I am GROOT!

His Divine Majesty King Groot the 23rd, Self-Proclaimed Monarch of Planet X, custodian of the branch worlds, ruler of all he shades, flora colossus.
Groot Is an alien known by the Kree as a Floral Colossus, though this species was once thought extinct. He was recruited/apprehended by the Howling Commandos , despite his ability to hide in plain site by looking like a tree. He was later recruited by Starlord as a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy. How Groot got out of SHIELD custody and into Kree space is unknown.
After the disbanding of the GOG, as most were killed, it is revealed Groot is not a monarch but rather a young rebel by his races standards. His best friend and comrade rescues Groot from his home planet. On Planet X Groot was exiled to a far off island where he was being guarded by "The Cyborg Punishment Birds" (Robotic woodpeckers.) During this rescue attempt the robotic woodpeckers can no longer guarantee Groots containment so they unleash the most feared weapon on Planet X, FLAME. Groot is set a blaze right in front of Rocket Racoons eyes.
Groot is a sentient giant Tree from the Planet X. He has super strength due to his enormous size and was mostly used as a heavy assault trooper by the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Groot has shown the ability to create multiple miniature copies of himself known as cuttings which retain all his memories and can be used to resurrect himself if he is destroyed. Cuttings can also germinate other plant life forms so Groot can control them.

Groot can also speak through trees of all forms and has even spoken to Rocket Racoon through holographic trees that were not even real but just made up in Rockets head.

Even though Groot only ever says " I am Groot" It was revealed by the Inhuman Maximus that Groot actually has a very vast intellect. It is never commented that this may also just be due to Maximus's battle with sanity.

Groot was made using the 18" Spider-man as a base figure. I popped the head off. Dremeled off all the lines, careful to keep the muscle structure. I then sanded the figure smooth. I bought the figure missing a thumb so I cut off an Invisible Woman arm. Drilled a hole through the should joint and then one through the hand where the thumb was and inserted the arm. Locked in place with a nail. The entire body was resculpted. The head is a custom sculpt using Sculpey. The hair/branches are Fixit Sculpt over large paper clips inserted into holes drilled in his head.. The skirt is made from a bicycle innertube glued to a vaccuum belt with buckle from a WWE Belt and pouches from a Monkey Man BAF.

Everything was sculpted using Aves Fixit-Sculpt or Sculpey, painted with MM Acrylics, and sealed with Krylon Matte. Thank for looking. Comments are always welcome. Happy voting and I hope you enjoy!
