Apologies for the photo quality. This was a quick Custom - made for my young daughter Paula's classics class about Greek Myth. I made this from scratch in Clay and was minimalist with its detail as if a greek artisan peasant wouldve made it. Paula painted it with a glaze mix - so be nice! it turns at the heads only In Greek mythology, Cerberus or Kerberos (Greek ÊÝñâåñïò, Kerberos, "demon of the pit") was the hound of Hades, a monstrous three-headed dog (sometimes said to have 50 or 100 heads) - the original 'hellhound'. Cerberus guarded the gate to Hades and ensured that spirits of the dead could enter, but none could exit (additionally, no living person was to come into Hades). Among his siblings are Chimera and the Hydra. He is the offspring of Echidna and Typhon. His saliva is deadly poison The Greek Hero Hercules (Heracles) famously bested the might hound by putting it in a wrestling hold and knocking it out as one of his famous 12 labours. Recipe Clay and wire mesh for the scratchbuild toothpicks for teeth Gelatine dripped between fangs to simulate saliva enjoy! ![]() |

" Dear Paul.
What a lovely surprise to finally receive the model of Cerberus. It is Superb!
The detail is amazing - its teeth, tongues and saliva are all so well done.
Needless to say I am showing all the classes and the rest of the faculty, who just love the model too!
It will be an invaluable teaching aid for many years to come.
Thank you so much for putting in such a lot of effort - I can assure you it is very much appreciated
Yourse Sincerely

Or if its going to be just a static head - gloop rubber cenent glue on it - it works a treat -
also you can dye the solidified gloop into flowing blood drips
good for carried severed heads and axe/sword drips
I fins it harder to paint than scratchbuild - only thinmg inside it is tin foil and newspaper - which burns out when you fire it in a kiln - foil remains - making it a hollow dawgee

Paula did cool too with painting her first model - the mouth and eyes are especially good - since she used nail varnish for the eyes LOL

To answer your question - hes 9 inches at the head as big as my Hammerstein warbot I'm making
hes maybe about that long too - he could swallow a smallish marvel legend fig with ease
wish I friggin had an HML herc to pose next to him - shoulda used a restler when I think about it - Doh!
cheers for stopping by

Thanks for the love man - I'll call this version 1 as theres something I want to change - and cos its mostly static clay - except for the heads that turn - I want to make a totally articulated one and do it bigger n better with a base....
I knew you'd dig the Greek mythological hell pup angle - as you did that kicka$$ Ares in full armour
respect back

LOL wish I had a Hercules figure to pose with this big bad person - that'd rock
Oh yeah forgot to mention in the description
I got paid $40 equivalent for this -
I was going to charge my max rate for a figure this big - but instead - since it was for my daughters class - and I wasn't totally happy with the fur sculpt -
- I charged for material cost (£5) and time at half my usual rate (£6 an hour - so charged only £3 per hour at 5 hours)- as it didn't take me that long to make.
So at £20 I still made 4 times my initial cash outlay back *shrugs*
and it was for a noble cause
- my daughter getting brownie points in her classics class
- and seeing her smile at me with that "best dad in the world" kinda smile
which is priceless
I'm one of the slowest customisers with my sight condition holding me back - but I find the more time I spend at something - the better it gets
But I hope I get faster as my vision improves...

To be honest, I wanted this to be the best it could be - but I got a lot of customs on the go - some paid for work too and I wished I couldve devoted more time to it - especially since its for my daughters class
And this A-hole in her class called McDee is a complete bad person to her saying the models gonna suck - hes wound my daughter up so much - that she says if he complains about it and slags me off shes going to brain him with a chair
The dog heads I fear are the most detailed - I'm not totaly happy with the fur work - originally was going to use real fur - but it started to look 'puffy' and not so muscley looking and was going to be more work than I could commit too
Still 5 hours later - we got this big drooling hell puppy
Glad youse liked it!
