Big thanks again to sephiroth for providing me with these awesome ArtFX mech figures: you da' man! Here's the second rearmed mighty mech, from Front Mission 3, the wanzer Kyojun! Like the previous wanzer, the base figure was completely intact, it was merely missing hardpoints. It still had its shield, gun, backpack, and the large missile pod, but it still needed a hand melee weapon, a second shoulder gun, and an arm-mounted weapon. Fortunately, these parts didn't need to look "integrated" due to the modular nature of the series' mech designs. The shoulder machine gun was a SIMPLE creation. Originally from a Batman animated Joker, all I needed to do was shorten the back and cut off the trigger, the handle served as the peg to plug into the shoulder, didn't even need to paint. The club was an interesting case. Originally a firing missile from some random figure weapon, I sculpted it to look just like the in-game model, and painted it black with a metallic wash to give it a gritty, used feel. But my favorite piece has to be the twin pilebunker (the trip hammer-like spike weapon on the arm). Made from a dual missile launcher from an Iron Man movie Titanium Man, I resculpted the missiles, reworked the interior spring launch system, and reassembled the entire piece. It's now a functional weapon, launching the spikes at the press of a button to impale your most tenacious mech foes! I gave these two FM3 figures to my best friend Mike as a long overdue birthday present. He's an avid collector of combat robot figures, particularly Mech Warrior miniatures. I got such a thrill to see his eyes light up when I unboxed these two beauties! Makes this little hobby of mine worth every expense and pitfall! All systems go, locked and loaded, mission accepted! ![]() |

Yeah, their gear was pretty sparse. I understand it for the Armored Core figures, since they're roughly in scale with the Kotobukiya AC models, and I think the weapons might be interchangeable, so between the series, a serious collector can get literally hundreds of weapons. But these Wanzers, they only made eight unique figures in the series, and with only three to four weapons each, we're talking 32 tools at most . . . that's pretty slim for a custom mech game. I actually much prefer the little Trading Arts figures. Cheaper, smaller, just as poseable, and a lot more of them, and all the same color so ALL their gear and limbs and heads and everything are completely interchangeable. I have a bunch of them, they're awesome.
But really, thanks for the props!
