I've been having some fun painting these little guys up, so when I saw Lightning Rod, the first thing that came to mind was the Greek God Zeus, and so I painted him up to look like him. Thanks for looking! Please wait... |

I do not have any tutorials on customizing Skylanders. Some basic info for that though is that you'll want a hairdryer to heat the figure and pull apart the connected pieces with your hands or pliers if you have to. I don't suggest the boil & pop method because it's possible the circuitry could get damaged. To each his own though. I wash the pieces with dishsoap or "spongebath" the figure if I have to to get any oils off of it. Once it dries you can probably paint each piece individually or back together. Superglue is good to get it back together. I probably missed a few steps, but basically if you can find a tutorial on figure customization you can apply it to these guys. This site has plenty of tutorials.
I mainly use acrylics especially on softer plastics watered down too. I use Testors, Citadel, Vallejo, Tamiya, and P3 paints. Enamels can get tacky on certain plastics, so I try to steer away from them.
I hope this was able to help you out. Thanks again.
