Where to start? Since my first custom there has be sooo many great works of art to draw inspiration from.

But one stood out, Punstarr's Captain America. About the time he finished his I was about half way through. Thanks to his artwork I was able to have a great reference.

I wanted to make Captain America have a pissed off ready for combat look to him. The scales have a flared eagle feather look. His gloves and boots have blood because he knocked some nazis bum out. Scales are worn down a bit. Then instead of white I put silver cause I felt that the white was for show/being a symbol but silver armor look was for combat.

Captain America was made out of a street fighter Guile dremeled down.
Hardest part about that was Guile's crazy hair.

The most fun but most pain in the butt. Was the scales at first I tried to had sculpt the scales but that failed miserably.
So I got the idea to get a hole punch and go to town on the cardboard that comes with ML toys for scales.

I punched out a lot of scales and some were cut in half to fit in the smaller parts of the body.
Each scale was applied using a tiny bit of fixit sculpt. Then when the scales were done I used superglue to make sure they stayed. Cap's wings on his head were also made from the scales just cut very small.

I used vallejo paints for Cap. I started with a black base coat for the entire figure.
The blue suit was a black and blue mix with four different layers of blue drybrushed.
Gunmetal was used with a black ink wash.
Gore red and scar red for the stripes and blood splatt.
Then three different layers of brown for gloves and boots.

The shield is just a dollar mirror from walmart with rubber bands on the back.

Thanks for reading that long write up. Now I'm proud to present you all Captain America.

Ruffled like an eagle! That's a labor of love. Lotsa work and it pays off. Guile is the best base for a super soldier. Good work on this man!

Very, very impressive. I'm honored that my Cap custom was able to inspire you so. The scales do indeed make him look "ruffled" like an eagle, and your paint apps are incredible, but what stands out the most are the wings. Much, much better than the ones I did. Kudos.
