"How to sculpt Samurai armor"
Step 1: Punch yourself in the face for wanting to sculpt samurai armor.

Began working on this guy the same time I started the turtles. Really wanted him to have an intense fuedal look with more of a realistic rabbit head. I saw a sculpture of a frightened rabbit with long ears that were pulled back. That's what inspired me to create his "down" ears look. Took my time to get as much detail as I could. I do think I could have added tons more though. Maybe with the next one ;)

Thanks for looking guys & gals.

Beautiful alernate take on Sakai's most famous creation. The downturned ears are definitely a novel look for the character, and I dig the intricate armor.

Yep, better to take a hammer and smash your fingers before starting a project as detailed as this. Beautiful work though. The purple colors are glass-smooth and stunning.

Excellent sculpting job. Looks like super-sculpy? I'm curious how you managed to attach the leg-armor and still have it articulated. There's a few workarounds, and I'm always curious how people approach that (or if they've invented a new way). Awesome job all around.

Thanks Blayne. Regarding the armor on his shoulders, thighs and skirting; the base structure was formed with super-sculpey and detailed with aves. I attached the skirt armor using thin strips cut from a rubber glove, which allows it to be stretchy and durable.
