So I bought the new HML Thor - love him to death. Then I made a taller classic Cap as a companion. But you can't have just 2 of the "Big 3" so classic Iron Man was obviously coming, and here he is. All the IM figs I have are too short and the MS IMs are to tall. This custom is a hair shorter than Cap and in just the right scale with Thor, which is all I care about because THOR RULES ALL... but I digress. Knowing, me this set will likely get extended to a few more "popular roster" Avengers.

Torso, upper arms and legs are from two WWE figs. I wanted the arms to be trimmer than Cap's so I needed to combine two figs to get the basic buck. The head, lower arms/hands and lower legs/feet are from the Series 1 ML Iron Man. I sculpted the arc reactor, shoulder hoops, crotch armor and boot soles. The paint job is all metallic but the pics flattened out the red. I also repainted the Stark face to even the skin tones and rework the stache and brows a bit.

Great work. Best Iron Man I've seen. Way to make those WWE figures useful.

I am really impressed by the mods you made on this. I have the series 1 ML figure and I hate the oversized features on it. I have some Mattel wrestling figures, obviously from the torso articulation this is one of the elite bodies. Can you suggest which bodies are best for this mod? It would be greatly appreciated!!

sorry - just saw this. I used a combo of the medium buck for torso and legs (Randy Savage) and the trim buck for the arms (David Hart).

WOW!! It looks INVINCIBLE! I love this body type and base for and it makes him look sleek like he should be instead of the ML Toybiz bulky body! These Mattel base figures really work well for customs in my opionion and I really need to start using some of the bunches that I have. Stevid has been using these for a while and putting out great customs with them also. I think the scale is perfect because, like you said with these other bases you just never know what you are going to get scale wise whether it be the old Toybiz figures or Hasbro of today

Dude, I didn't realize how awesome this figure was until I read the description. Awesome work man, I never liked the elite figures for comic book characters because I thought it would make them look too realistic and less "comic-booky", but you sir have banished all my doubts with this one figure. Excellent work.

Classic! You know at first glance I thought the base was a Bucky Cap. This is actually better than the (dare I say) Toybiz version of this armor bro! So are Tony and Cap kinda MS scale now?

Yes, people are loving on the new Bucky buck and to me, it is just a shorter version of the bucks Mattel has been using on WWE for years. I guess you could say that the Cap and Iron Man are MS scale but that MS isn't that consistent. The new HML Thor is a little taller than MS Thor and MS Thor is the standard 7 inches (which makes him too small next to other MS). I just put a ruler to all three and the heights are HML Thor: 7.5", Custom Cap: 6.5", Custom Iron Man: 6.4" give or take bit. The HML Bucky is 6" even.

Hey mods,

I just happened to have pics of this figure on my desktop when I pulled up the realm to check on this submission. I noticed that the colors on the original pics are way more vibrant than on the realm. How come?
