This is a lycanthrope monster from an old black & white Gameboy RPG, "Wizardry: Suffering of The Queen". Aside from the cool design, I took a liking to this critter because a crawfish is such a bizarre thing for a were creature to turn into (they're usually mammals like werewolves, werebears, wererats, etc.) All lycanthropes are shapeshifters (human to animal or hybrid and back again), so that satisfies this contest's requirements for subject matter. Come play time, maybe Werecraw can be Masters of The Universe Clawful's little Cajun henchman or something...
I sculpted/fabricated the entire Werecraw figure from scratch over a period of four days.
I had to fight the urge to paint this figure bright red (like a typical boiled lobster), which is always my first inclination when it comes to crustaceans. I looked at some photos of real crawfish on Google for inspiration and opted for a more natural-looking, mottled brown/green/black color scheme which I think turned out pretty well.
