Deadpool (Marvel Legends) Custom Action Figure
So I got the two pack Toys R' Us special Deadpool plus what's his face...anywho, I felt the DP was nearly perfect but wanted to tweak mine so it would even better. First off, his trigger finger on his left hand was not open to hold guns propperly, an exacto knife, some patience with a low setting on my heat gun, and no biggy, I even filed down the underside of the finger to make it rounded. When cut it was just flat surface under his trigger finger, couldn't have that. Next I liked the teleportation harness that held the swords - didn't like how it was attached and that the figure had trouble moving a bit in it. So I popped DP apart at the upper torso cut the belt off the harness, glued the upper parts of harness to the figure, and used green stuff to sculpt the lower part of the teleportation harness to the swiveling lower torso. I made sure to shave the plastic of the upper torso before fitting him back together to allow room for the greenstuff, and eliminating any rubbing. I then cut out one of the pouches on the belt, to make the belt fit to the figures waist and no be so baggy. I then had a Deadpool that had free range of movement with his harness on. I then made him a secondary holster for his other leg by flipping another I had on hand - I basically just cut it apart, flipped the straps so the belt buckles were going the right direction, and glued the part that actually caries the gun on backwards. I then used a bit of sculpt again to pull off the details in the holster and make it look close to the original just in reverse. To finish things off I didn't care for his feet, they were alright but I wanted my Deadpool to have on combat boots so I used spare parts from a Neo figure I had cannibalized for another project. I lopped off both feet and sanded the calf area to fit the boots slightly. They are held in with nice metal screws instead of plastic pegs, which works really well. Finally I repainted the entire figure. I went with darker shades all the way through. Blood Red, Shiny Black (to look more like leather), gunmetal gray for the harness and buttons and buckles, I coated him down with flat clear coat, as well as his weapons, which I painted (even adding a tag to the deadpool tag to his M-4 with shotgun attachment. I like the way he turned out, I think he's spiffy at least. I know I didn't make any drastic changes to him from the original but I wouldn't mind comments if you got them! Please wait... |
