Modern Age Johnny Quick is from Earth-2, in the anti-matter universe of Qward. He is the counterpart of New Earth Flash, and most of his history and real name is unknown. What is known he killed his predecessor (the previous Johnny Quick) who was a Thunderer. He assumed the identity of Johnny Quick and extracted his blood to create a super-speed drug "Speed Juice" that he has to inject on regularly basis. He is part of Earth-2's "Ruling Elite" as a member of the Crime Syndicate of Amerika, in which the Syndicate supplies fresh batches of his drug, which sometimes is altered to be more euphoric. He was recently beaten by Owlman who slipped a inhibition chemical compound into Quick's "Speed Juice" which resulted in Quick having a small heart attack. It is unknown if this heart attack has impacted his speed and other abilities. When Quick faces Jesse Chambers, she says that "This Johnny Quick has my father's face", implying he alternate version of New Earth Johnny Quick and not Barry Allen or Wally West.
I love Villains and really the one thing I want in my favorite Toy lines is more villains. The CSA also presents an alternate reality fix that I love. but I was disappointed that they where not all from the same time line. some where the modern incarnations others their old school version. And though I was ecstatic to get a second CSA set none of them could be left as is NOOoo they had to be modified to be their corresponding time versions so that my sets could be complete. Johnny here was first as he would be the easiest.
I don't expect to win with this custom. I just thought it would be a good entry. And as it is actually done in time for the contest hey why not. I had to repaint johnny which was easy and gave him a head swap. Big deal right LOL I agree but the hard part was sculpting the helmet. As this is not the same JQ as the original but rather more of the more modern version I had to give him a suiting racing helmet. Entirely sculpted by hand to try and convey the look I wanted and match the one I did some time ago in the DC Direct line that I traded off some time ago. I think this one came out much better much smoother and it feels more like the character than the last.
