Alistair Smythe (Spider-Man) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:3692
Name:Alistair Smythe
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Spider-Man
Creator:LWes
Date Added:August 22, 2007
Base Figure:ML Angel
Height:6.00 inches
Smythe is a character I like a whole lot. It started when I was a kid and watched the Spider-Man cartoon, where he appeared in very many episodes.
So when I read through all Spider-Man comics I was greatly anticipating the entrance of Alistair Smythe, and was surprised and dissapointed that he was so different. He was a fat disgusting computer geek! Then he lost some weight, but he was still disgusting. I would asume it was because of his popularity on the cartoon that they revamped him, making him into the Ultimate Spider-Slayer, which is the version this custom is based on.

I used a ML Angel as base and added ball joints on top of the shoulders for those weird things he's got there.
I used an Vision head, glued on a pair of ears and sculpted hair. The ponytail took a really long time to make, because I could only do a little at a time. It wasn't very fun.
I for his toes, I gave him some claws from an ugly plastic dinosaur, and the blade-things on his legs and arms, I cut out pieces of plastic.
Oh and I almost forgot the tentacle-blade-things on his shoulders. I used plastic pieces, trimmed them down, dremeled a hole in each and then sculpted the rest of them, so they are now poseable.

When I painted the figure, I used a Metallic Aliminium paint as a base for the legs and then put on a blue wash, and I was very happy at the result, it looks great in my opinion!

I think this figure came out beautiful, because of the colors and all the weird things coming out of his body.
It took a whole lot of work, so I hope you guys think it's cool too!

really cool work again Wes
but I always wished that smythe was all in black so those things on his shoulders looked more "spidery" - rather than the broken dildos they look like
but your spidey villain customs are really great

Yes you are correct. So if it does look like Rocket Racer's board, we'll make a deal!

Nope, his board has wheels. Check it.

I would take you up on that, however I think his board is some kind of hover board, which I don't think would be too hard to make, as it probably doesn't have any wheels. I'll have to check some pictures some day.

Ironically I have a skateboard that looks perfect for ML scale if you want it for the RR custom.

Yeah, sorry I never answered that huh? I do have Rocket Racer on my radar absolutly. I want to make Spidey's allies too, and yes Rocket Racer did start out as a thief. I just haven't come up with any parts to use yet.
I'm still working on several figures - I'll write 'em down in my WIP thread. I have almost 40 Spider-Man characters on my list, whichof 14 I have the recipies worked out.

Hey, Wes I was serious about that Rocket Racer fig.
Does he count as a villain? I'm thinking he was a villain at some point?

Cool! Man, are we doing the same reading list? It seems like everytime I see one of your Spidey customs, I just finished reading the same ish you show pics of. If I see a Scrier or a Kaine pop up, then I`ll know something`s up!

Sounds like a cool plan evan!
DDA, I love mullets on Marvel characters, but it's harder to sculpt. I'd love to make a Venom with the head of Eddie Brock, complete with his awesome '90s mullet, at some point.

This is BEAUTIFUL!
I've been planning one with a removeable wheelchair.
P.S The Tombstone was NOT the hard project.
