AD-379 was an android built on planet Aelmuq-9. The letters AD stand for "Assassin Droid". He onced served the Aelmuquian race carrying out assassinations along with hundreds of other AD units. AD units were given only the basic of emotions and carried out their assassinations without question. They were feared across the universe for countless centuries before the Aelmuquian government quit sanctioning assassinations. When the order was given to return to Aelmuq-9 for decommissioning many AD units rebelled against their creators. Some AD units were reprogrammed for other duties but most were destroyed during the rebellion. AD-379 was on a mission when the order was given to return home. He disregarded the order, carried out his assassination, and headed for deep space. The Aelmuquian race survived the rebellion and AD-379 survived to assassinate another day. Eventually he came to the attention of Sinestro. Sinestro presented him with a Qwardian Power Ring and said "Become one of my Corpsmen and I will give you an abundance of emerald targets to assassinate."


So this custom has a rather easy recipe.

Base Figure: DC Universe Classics Maash/Low
Head: Marvel Legends X-Men Xorn. The original idea was to use the human head from the Xorn figure to make a Green Lantern and then use the mask to make a Sinestro Corps member. Unfortunately I came to find out that the human head is very small and would not work with a 6in figure. But with the mask on it makes a nice head. So I glued the human head into the mask and called it a loss. I did some sculpting and painting as well as some dremel work to get the head to fit. I also filled in the two holes near his mouth with sculpey and painted accordingly. The eyes were the hard part. I decided they needed to be yellow but I have trouble painting in small areas. So I did my best.
Hands: Terminator T-600 hands.
Ring: I cut a ring from one of the dozens of Maash hands I have. A little glue and a dab of paint.
Construct: DC Universe Classics Samurai Sword. Yellow constructs are hard to come by so when I realized Samurai had a clear yellow sword I had to buy him. Been dying to use it with a custom.
Thoughts: I had thoughts of adding some more mechanical devices to this guy. But I decided I didn't want him looking majorly robotic like Sinestro Corpsman Tekik or Green Lantern Stel. And to be honest when I got this far with him he just felt finished.
