King Leonidas (300) Custom Action Figure
Custom #: | 3621 | Name: | King Leonidas | Custom Type: | Action Figure | Toy Series: | 300 | Creator: | Nuffsaid | Date Added: | August 14, 2007 | Base Figure: | Gaint Man | Height: | 12.00 inches |
When Neca released the 12 inch Leonidas I figured it would be a great way to use an incomplete GM I had stashed away. I took the heads forearms and shins and attached them to Gaint man. I went with a cloth cape this time around cuz the rubber one was just way to heavy for him stand on his own with. I have always had problems when it came to skin tones but without sounding to egotistical......PREPARE FOR GLORY!!! (I don't even know what the means or if it applies, just needed a 300 quote) Please wait... |

This will be a tough battle. lol
Great figure though.
But Sergio Leone's Fistful Of Dollars was a remake of Akira Kurosawa's Yojimbo - so I don't have a problem with remakes and "retellings" as long as they bring something new and interesting to the table - especially showcasing a new director like Snyder's or Nispels directorial flair and using fantastic under used character actors like R Lee Emery.
The script for both Dawn and TCM remakes were very good indeed - good interplay between characters especially in the TCM remake - something the original didn't do well at all - it relyed on its stark horror documentary aspect instead.
The acting in the TCM original - except for the "father" chracter was abysmal compared to the remake.
I hope Halloween isnt going to suffer at Rob Zombies hands - House of 1000 corpses left me cold - but devil's rejects was miles better if uneven. We'll see
Anyway Sorry for Dedi's film class 101 Nuffsaid - your custom is great fella - I love it!!!

They weren't original tho sure- so yeah youre right about that - but its very hard to be original and definitely easier to reinterpret an original hopefully in a just as entertaining way - which both did
Your are right about Mr.Emery he was the highlight of that film. And yes the filmmaking on BOTH Dawn and TCM was great. I was talking more about story and lack of originality hollywood has. I say just stop with the remakes already.
It was a different film to the original - as Dawn of the dead remake was - each of these remakes brought something new to the table in my and many others opinion
TCM "remake" had the secret wqeapon in its arsenal of R Lee Emery as the Sheriff - that just made the film
Only remake that outright sucked and made me want to set fire to the cinema was Planet Of The Apes - what a Crock

Don't blame the film - Blame the source for repetition - the film rocked
And yes the guys film making WAS the big deal - Hes remade Dawn of the Dead with brutal elan - next up from Zack Snyder is Watchmen.
Guys stuff impresses me.
