Mumm-Ra (Thundercats) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:35636
Name:Mumm-Ra
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Thundercats
Creator:mikey0357
Date Added:January 4, 2012
Base Figure:MOTUC Skeletor
Height:7.50 inches
I have no casting or sculpting ability but I've been wanting to make a Mumm-Ra figure with a spare MOTUC Skeletor for awhile now. When I saw the Icon Heroes Mumm-Ra staction, I bought it for display purposes, but once I received it I realized this was the look I wanted for my MOTUC style Mumm-Ra. So I decapitated my Icon Heroes Mumm-Ra, cut out his mummy wrappings as well as took his feet with shin guards so it would give him a little more height than the original MOTUC Skeletor although I lost articulation at the ankles. Carved/drilled out staction head to fit on MOTUC body and painted arm bands, chest symbol, and added his wraps. I repainted Skeletor loin armor becuase I like the MOTUC look and would allow more leg movement rather than a true style Mumm-Ra waist wrap. Took a red cloak from a Spawn figure I believe, and gave him the runeblade Frostmourne from WOW, at least until I can find a nice double edge blade fitting for Mumm-Ra. I'm happy with my first try, maybe at a later date I will touch him up, maybe repaint the chest symbol, but for now, he's good to go. Shown pictured with Icon Heroes packaging and MOTUC Battle Armor Faker to compare.

If I didn't know better I would have thought this was a store bought figure

I wasn't on figure realm yet when you posted this, so now I am and I must say this is the best Mumm-Ra in MOTU style ever made! I mean for you to even use the statue figure was pure genius! Excellent work, this is just brilliant!

Thanks Banner/HULK Inc! What can I say, I can't sculpt and believe me I tried a few times so I cheated instead. I decided I would rather have a figure with articulation rather than a station so that's the route I took. It was fun to carve up the statue. Like one Mumm-Ra taking out the fake one, hehehe! Glad you liked it! I noticed that there were some killer ones made since mine. They are badass looking!

Hey thanks for compliments on my customs mikey0357, but I've yet to try Thundercats, and I mean it when I say this is the mother of all Mumm-Ras! ( or mummy of all Mumm-Ras)

I just want to let people know viewing my Mumm-Ra that the first Mum-Ra customized on this site was from Guyver in 2003 and his is THE KING! I take my snake helmet off to his work! I discovered it 9 years later and months after I had put mine up here and was in shock how much of his concept I copied without even knowing his existed. His is the true Original on Figure Realm!

Thank you very much everybody! I really appreciate your kind words. I wasn't too concerned with the loss of the statue once this figure took shape, but it was a kick-ass Mumm-Ra statue. Just remembered, cloak came from the NECA 300 Leonidas, had been swapped a few times so I didn't recognize it at first. LOL, I don't think I'll be attempting a Lion-O anytime soon Arez, I'm very happy with the one I got from Boskoes last year. I don't have the talent or the expertise you have. If its not a simple swap and paint job, I'm outta luck. Believe me, I've seen everybody's customs and I'm amazed with everyone's ideas, skills, and talents!
