Thanks to Mattel's TRU Skeletor/Lex Luthor 2-pack, I'm sure I'm not the only one with extra Lex Luthors lying around. :) My good buddy Paul's brother plays for the Tennessee Titans. He's Ken Amato (#58) and is a really good guy all around. I thought what better Christmas gift than a customized futuristic/alternate universe version of a Tennessee Titans Ken Amato. Especially after looking at the Lex Luthor figure and thinking how perfect this base figure would be for a futuristic football player. I carefully 'exacto-knifed' the chest logo that the original figure comes with and sanded it down. I gave the entire figure a coat of gray, then blues and blacks, then went crazy with dry-brushing. I detailed the figure with lots of water-slide decals of Tennessee Titans logos and NFL logos. The helmet is from a Hasbro Iron Man figure. The underside of the helmet was made for a bigger peg, so I filled it up with Aves Apoxie (My first time using it. Thanks Jin Saotome for your awesome tutorial on your website on how to use Apoxie . You rock, man!). Once it dried up, I "dremelled" a smaller hole so that it fits snugly on the Luthor figure. Completed December 31st, 2011. Thanks for looking, folks. Happy New Year! :)  |

Damn, you could- and should!- make more of these for other teams. I'm not a football fan, but I think the Steelers color scheme would rock with this concept.
