Hi fellow artists. :) I'd like to close 2011 with the first figure that I created at the beginning of this year. Prior to 2011, I was always intrigued by the art of customizing figures, but was always a little intimidated by the awesome customs that I would see online. Early 2011 I decided to bite the bullet and give customizing a try. Hence this concept Green Lantern character which I've fittingly called Genesis. I bought a DC Direct ElseWorlds Superman figure, removed its head, shoulder pads and cape and went to town on repainting the whole figure. The helmet is actually from a World of Warcraft Series 1- Thargas Anvilmar Dwarf Warrior Figure. I "exact-knifed" the beard and horns off the helmet and sanded it down. This guy was done before I learned the wonders of using water-slide decals, hence the hand painted GL logos on his chest and helmet. I'm seriously thinking of redoing his 2 GL logos on his helmet. I was never really happy with the way they came out. The 2 translucent green hoses and the ring are from a plastic bracelet. I love the energy effect they produce. Being that it's my true first custom figure, it holds a special place in my heart. I know I still have a long way to go, but it's been a fun ride so far. Thanks to this wonderful site, FigureRealm, and its incredible community of fellow customizers (from beginners to the Jedi Knights of customizing), I know it's going to be a fun 2012 for me. Completed February 2011. Thank you so much for your feedback. Happy New Year, folks. :) ![]() |

Coming from a gifted customizer like yourself, your words mean a lot.
They're awesome and extremely creative.
I don't know if I could do that though.
Might give it a try, but I somewhat like leaving the concept characters' stories up to the viewers' imagination.
Thanks saber4734.
Hmmmmmm.....
I might have to give him another try.
Thanks for taking the time to provide feedback.
I really appreciate it.
Have a great new year.
Here's to a great new year in the art of customizing.
I truly appreciate all your kind words.
That GL logo on his chest took me several attempts before I felt I had it just right. It was, however, an awesome introduction into the world of customizing.
I'll be posting a few more soon since I still have some from 2011 and am currently working on a few projects for the start of 2012.
Have an amazing 2012, 3b...
