This piece really does not translate well on pictures, but it’s one of my favorite customs. This miniature diorama is based on the cover of the first issue of IDW Publications' All Hail Megatron comic book series. It stands about 4 to 5 inches tall, kinda small and making it difficult to capture all details on a photo. I started with a wooden base from the crafts store and I covered it with parts of small and broken Transformers from my fodder box. I demolished them somewhat more to really create a battlefield feeling, covered with metal scrap and Transformer bodies. I glued it all together and attached it to the base. Among the victims are Bumblebee and Jazz, but to even it out a little there are also parts of Decepticon Blackout in there. On top of that pile, I added the Attacktix Optimus Prime figure, cut off his head and cut off his arm. Also in there are the remains of a Marvel Figure Factory Hulk diorama (the burning tank). Repainted the lot to make it look dirty and war torn. On top I placed a modified Attacktix Megatron, holding Prime’s head on a stake. As I live in The Netherlands and I didn’t want to use an American flag that he holds on the cover of All Hail Megatron issue one. I decided to give Megatron a Decepticon flag in his hands instead. The flag is made of parts of a Superman cape with a Decepticon logo sticker added on both sides. Not on the pictures, but there is also a large Decepticon logo on the bottom of the wooden base. Megatron was completely repainted as well to give him a dirty and worn look as well. But he definitely won the battle! Please wait... |
