After learning that Ares is still alive in an alternate universe(DC), Kratos' thirst for power and vengeance made him decide to track down DCUC Ares. He called for aid to the god of time, Chronos and traveled through time and space. Kratos killed DCUC Ares and acquired his armor.

It is only a matter of time until Kratos finds out that there is another Ares in a different universe called Marvel.
