Well I've been wanting to try out the new Thundercats design for quite a while now and this competition gave me the perfect motivation to get at least one done. I decided to start with my favourite cat, Panthro. I love the new design for him (wasn't too sure about the hair at first but it's grown on me) but I knew parts would be challenging. I decided to not go for a straight up accurate representation, so this is the new Panthro with a couple of my own ideas added in there. Most noticeable is probably the blue pants, two reasons for that. One, I think it ties him in with the classic cats better and two, less work which was a massive bonus because I didn't start this one till two weeks ago. Anyhow, that's enough of my rambling, here's the recipe.

Recipe:
Head = TBML Rhino, tons of sanding and re-sculpting. Sanded down mask and massive nostrils then completely sculpted the face except for the eyes. Dremmelled head to fit neck joint.

Torso = HML Savage grey Hulk, Sculpted Scar and vest, the spikes are screws, screwed into the body the sculpted over.

Arms = HML Savage grey Hulk, Sculpted gloves, armour, fingernails and scars on shoulders. Spikes are screws again very securely fitted and sculpted over. Foam for the straps.

Lower torso and crotch = HML Savage grey Hulk, sculpted top of his trousers.

Belt = Foam sheet, earphone wire and some random jewels. His symbol is reversible and is made from a random piece of jewellery. It is held on by a magnet behind the earpiece of an earphone.

Legs = TBML 1st Appearance Hulk grey, completely sculpted pants down to top of boots. Sculpted bottom of legs, armour and toenails. Screws sculpted over for the spikes again. Foam for the straps.

Painted with Games Workshop paints and sealed with superglue and Games workshop satin purity seal.

I Know he doesn't have his chucks and I did plan on doing some but as he was coming together I kinda decided this guy don't need no weapon.....he IS the weapon hence the name Panthro The Walking Weapon!!
