I call this thing VENOM: THE UNGODLY AWAKENING. I was envisioning a venom coming from the birthing sludge and alien sybmiote pools that was madder than hell and ready to reign terror upon any who stood in its way. I really didn't know how to describe this monstrosity, but here goes nothing... I started with my extra Venom the Madness I scored at a toy show back in September. I first broke off the arms and legs and made a rudimentary mold of the heads part(11 heads) and casted 6 of those. I took a wooden base and laid out four of the casts around the base and one cast I broke the heads apart and used them in various places. I also used some plaster rock and hot glue to add some texture. I drilled a few holes in the base and attached some twisty wire with hot glue for symbiote tendrils. Putting Venom together I attached one of the casts of heads onto the top back of the main body. I used apoxie sculpt over wire frame for that. I also attached the arms from the main body to this casted part. I then attached an extended set of ML FO HULK arms I had laying around. I used dow rods and wire frame with sculpt to build those up and hold it together. The legs were from a DCUC CNC Trigon figure sculpted over and attached to the base with sculpt and plumbers putty, along with extending the torso and wire framing and sculp to build it up. Sculpt-It is also good for putty filler when you don't want to waste your good stuff. This thing weighs about 3 or 4 pounds and has more paint on it than a New York subway train(holla REDMIST!) This is first and foremost a statue, with still quite a bit of poseability. The main head moves from side to side and both main body arms move up and down and side to side. All the tendrils can be moved around. I posted one picture to give you an idea of the amount of heads on this thing. It looks like a pool of bloodthirsty symbiotes. The other picture with the Toybiz classic 6" Spider-Man to show the scale size of this gargantua of gore! Hope you all like it! Oh, to see more pics, friend me on FB and check out the gallery! THE FIRST PERSON TO GUESS HOW MANY SYMBIOTE HEADS ARE ON THIS STATUE GETS A "NO-PRIZE"! G2G!!! ![]() |

GUYS, I WANTED TO SAY THANK YOU FOR ALL WHO VOTED FOR MY VENOM: THE UNGODLY AWAKENING AS FIGUREREALMS 2011 CUSTOM OF THE YEAR! I REALLY HAD NO IDEA THIS WAS EVEN GOING ON AND I PROBABLY WOULDN'T HAVE HADN'T IT BEEN FOR COSMIC FANTASY CUSTOMS SENDING ME AN EMAIL TELLING ME ABOUT IT. SO, I AM TRULY HONORED AND HUMBLED THAT YOU, MY PEERS, CHOSE MY CUSTOM FOR THIS AMAZING AWARD! WITH SO MANY GREAT CUSTOMIZERS, OLD SCHOOL TALENT WHO HAVE BEEN HERE FOR YEARS, UP AND COMERS AND NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK, THIS IS SOMETHING I WILL CHERISH AND HOPE EVERYONE KNOWS HOW MUCH I APPRECIATE IT. I KNOW I DON'T COMMENT ON EVERYBODIES CUSTOMS, BUT I TRY TO GET A FEW AT RANDOM EACH TIME I GET ONLINE. SOME GUYS JUST COME ON HERE AND PUT THERE STUFF UP TO SELL ON e*ay AND LEAVE AND OTHERS ARE REALLY PASSIONATE ABOUT THE CUSTOM THEY MAKE. I LIKE TO BE UPLIFTING AND NOT DISCOURAGING. I CAN BE CRITICAL AT TIMES, BUT ONLY IN A PRIVATE SETTING. I WON'T CRITICIZE NO ONE ON OPEN FORUM. IF YOU ASK ME IN PRIVATE TO CRITIUQE YOUR CUSTOM, I'D BE GLAD TO GIVE YOU ENCOURAGING CRITICISM. I SEE ALL CUSTOMS AS A UNIQUE WORK OF ART AND THERE IS NO WRONG CUSTOM. IF WE ALL USED THE SAME HEADS, PARTS AND PAINT APPS, THEN WHAT IS THE USE OF IT BEING CALLED A CUSTOM. ONE LAST THING TO MY SPEECH AND I WILL CLOSE...
DAMMIT BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THE WATCHER - thank you Watcher!
Lobão - well, I was going for a high creep factor with this. Sick and vibrant! Thank you!!
Redmist - yes I do! is there a Doctor in the house? Dr. Nightmare done left us!
windblock2007 - God willing , you will see much more. I have only begun to customize!
RedRebelCustoms - Well, I guess you called it and I didn't even know about the contest!
Madtinker76 - Tink, you have your Hulks and Juggernauts that are legendary and those deserve the 80's teen movie slow clap too! Venom is just one of those ugly character customs I like making.
Xysma - Don't do that brother! We can't make it without ya! I know it is ridiculous, I got more ridiculos stuff coming, maybe not as ridiculous as this, but let's just say EPIC
ALUCARD - thank you Drac!
speedlee - I thank you for that, even though these things are made to be 1UP'd! It's a great compliment
Hammer of the Gods - you should see it in person!
TheGr8One - Hey, we can't knock you for that! Most of love a little work and games!
CAb00se - haha! thanks CAb! If you can make someone cuss alittle when they see your custom, then that means you did a good job...lol!
fitzjedi - I really appreciate that, fitz! I had a buyer for this thing, but it is so huge and heavy I would have to ship it in a crate! My wife said I could keep it!!!
lordseshomaru86... yes, he probably did!
jigsaw78... I'm truly honored you think so and that's a great accolade to be tossing around if even one person thinks so, it made it worth making.
TPCustomStudio...hey, means a lot! favorites are hard to come by with so many great stuff gracing these forums! thanks
hussapocalypse...yeah, I love the NO PRIZE! I love it when I can outdo myself, but most times these labors of love don't pay off for me because it's a hard crowd to sell to out there. Just "TRUE CUSTOMIZERS" really appreciate it, like yourself. My casting is rudimentary at best, but it works for what I need it for. Airbrushing is mainly used for shading for the most part. I have yet to really get down and use it like I want too but I will. I just don't want to be known strictly for airbrushing. I used a lot of different paint apps to get the final result I'm looking for. One day I'm gonna do a full blown tutorial on how I paint. Thank you!
pulpyfiction...Well, I thank you from the bottom of my heart! Always starstuck by your customs too
evanjones1...62? Close to the mark. Go higher! I agree on the loose symbiotes...lol! I loved your symbiote-form S3 movie Venom. that was a classic for and good imagination for a young whippersnapper such as yourself! I told you to keep up with it the customs and you would be one of the greatest because you got started at an early age.
Bakegirl...Hey Bakegirl, I really thank you for the standing O! I'm really grateful that you think this deserves those high remarks!
JonnyVu...yes it is and I guess we all have to be alittle crazy to do these custom figures!
3bcustoms...67 is a close number, a little bit off but one of the closer ones! I appreciate your comment tremendously!
DeDAgheN...truly honored and humbled you think so
dbocustoms... thank you sir!
Stevid...thanks STEVID! you should know what one is since you crank them out like a factory!
REBNOR... yes it surely was!
G_Rantula...I'll drink to that!
trialanderror...thank you! Creepy is good for this and I agree. I was looking at this thing and some of those heads remind me of alien chestbursters!
Cosmic Fantasy Customs...53, not too far off the count CFC! My photo taking isn't the best in the world, but this is one that really must be seen in person to get the full scope of it! I'm glad that customizers atleast can appreciate that and have a good idea of what it takes. Most average onlookers don't have a clue. Thank you my friend!
Avid_Dabbler_Cadabra...HAHA! well, if I can make somebody cuss, I've done my job!
PANZERVARGAS...that's what I was going for, THANKS A MILLION!
ringomendoza -...well, that would certainly be a good recognition and would truly humble someone. I don't want this to be mine, though...I will try and up it a notch or two before I check out! Oh and the 70 heads was a close guess, need to go HIGHER, but your adding it up pretty good! I gave a hint of 11 heads to each cast and that was 6 casts and then counting the main body, then an extra or two...
ole jade jaw...That's what Ima sayin'! LOL!
JohnnyCustom...58? Keep going higher! thank you JohnnyC! I didn't know how the green would go, but I just let the brush flow and sometimes it's ok to take a chance with your paintwork, you can always repaint it. Everything doesn't always have to be on a rail or a certain guidelines on how to do this or that. I'm glad this motivated you and that's what I inspire to do for others. It makes it worthwhile in the end.
AREZ...thank you AREZ, I really thank you for considering it that.
darththomas81...42, HIGHER! I like that word, BRUTAL! I tried my best and hope it brings out the best nightmares in others!
aussiedcfan...appreciate it
lonewolf77...thank you very much
dbocustoms...36 heads?!? GO HIGHER! I made this Venom to be a statue right off because I knew how heavy it would be and what I wanted to do with the base idea a regular figure wouldn't work. After making this one, it makes me want to revisit the other madness I had made and see if I can spice him up some.
boskoes ...I'm a big fan of Teamn Boskoes too and that team-up sounds great! I saw that Lizard and it was far-out! I like green and purple combos anyways! I probably won't make it back up that way anytime soon since I hung up my CB Radio and turned my billy big rigger keys in. I really thank you for the invite. I did make it up there to that K-Mart one day at Selinsgrove south of Lewisburg.
valkyriezero1...thank you, I tried to make something that would be crazy as all get out
Bob-A-Ferret...Yeah, Ferret, this is the one your mother warned you about!
suprasizeme...I thank you. It had a few days of work here and there on it. I spent a couple of hours detailing everything and fine tuning it so hopefully it will hold up good in shipping!
I cannot believe the amount of talent put into this beast of a custom. Truly a work of art.
Even if I'm in space, I can't miss how awesome this is. The green, blue and black are all perfect mix of colors. I'm still speechless after looking at this.......Freddie, kudos to you. You went all out on this one, no doubt I feel more motivated after looking a this one of a kind masterpiece. This piece is a force to be reckoned with.
My guess; there's 58 heads !?!
Take care
Bye :-)
