Is there anything scarier than an armed teenager? One day I was thinking about how in cartoons and other popular media they often retcon popular characters and make them into teens, tweens, and even babies in an attempt to make them marketable to a new demographic and explore new and different story-lines. And I had a good laugh imagining how some of the GI Joe villains must have coped with the struggles of adolescence. So here he is, "Kid" Destro! This marks the first time I have done multiple versions of one character, as I have also customized a "Pimp Daddy" Destro in the past.
I wanted a more slender, youthful appearance and found a good base in the ML Longshot body, which is already cast in black plastic, easing the workload as far as sanding and sealing joints. The arms are from a ML Sub-Mariner/Namor, and the head is from a DCUC Steel. It's a good head as it is slightly big for the body, enhancing the illusion that he's wearing a mask. Not sure about the gun and holster (suspect they are from a McFarlane Terminator T-1000), but the strap is from a ML Mister Sinister cape.
I'm pretty happy with the results here, but in retrospect if I could go back and do it over again I would have made him African American. Don't mess with the kid!
