In an alternate universe where the Empire began to encroach on the space patrolled by the Guardians, they realized that dealing with the Empire would be one of the most challenging encounters ever to befall the Green Lantern Corps. Not only was the Empire possessed of vast numbers of troops, more than they had ever faced, but the troops were backed up by an armada of weapons and ships. They had heard rumors that one weapon was capable of destroying entire planets. But that did not scare them. The Corps could handle armies and ships. No, it was talk of this mysterious power, "The Force", rumored to be more powerful than even the greatest of the Empire's superweapons that gave them pause. They needed a Lantern unlike any other. It was then they found an unassuming creature on a backwater swamp planet. A creature possessed of wisdom and strength of character as great as his 900 years of life, his name was Yoda. But this small, frail looking creature had strength of his own, for he already held great knowledge of this "Force". With the power of The Force, combined with the might of the Guardian's power ring, Yoda would become the most powerful Green Lantern of all time. -------------------------------------- GL Yoda was made from whatever the current Yoda is in the Star Wars line. While he is in large part a repaint, his ring and lantern were hand sculpted. The tiny ring actually broke off two or three times during build and photos! His outer cloak was paint washed with 5 or 6 thin thin coats of irridescent green that gives a depth of color and almost a glow look to it. ![]() |

I knew that would come in handy some day (oh wait, no I didn't).
Semper ubi, sub ubi, yall. (that's Southern Latin)
Hey Yoda, you're old, did you learn Latin?
Yoda: "A long time since Latin I learned. But open a can of whup @$$ on the next person to call me a poindexter I will"

groovy manipping aside
you got the power ring on the wrong hand - GLs are traditionally "right-handed"
The roman word for the left hand is "Sinister" and its always been associated with Evil and violence

Dedi
Dedi is correct, and the opposite (in latin) of the Sinister side is Dexter. Most lanterns wear the ring on the Dexter side. Also note this is where the terms Dexterous and Dexterity come from. (well not lanterns but the Latin term...heh)
So it would be safe to assume (I know I know) that most Sinestro Corps would wear the ring on the Sinister side or left hand. Which is actually portrayed quite nicely in the comics. I think when it comes to these comics, someone did thier homework!
Doc's left handed by the way LOL
I still love this custom tho
yeah I know latin - side effect of being rpeatedly having latin punched in the brainstem by 10 foot cybernuns at the catholic school I attended in orde to expunge my pagan ways
LOL as for the yoda interview - yer pretty funny guy yourself
And Dedi, you know your GL lore, and your Latin too, that's for sure! Many props!
But maybe after 900 years of training in The Force, perhaps Yoda feels the ring is secondary to the Force? That may also be why he still prefers to carry an actual saber instead of just conjuring one. Maybe we should ask him?
Yoda, what do you think?
Yoda: "Mmmmm, powerful this ring is, yes, but limited. Through The Force there are no limits, only those in your mind. But dig my swanky new bling and threads I do, yes!"
Ya know, or maybe the ring was sculpted on the non-sword holding hand cuz the darn thing is so delicate (mentioned in the original post), and the image matched the fig. One or the other.

Your point being what?
Both Lanterns and Jedi share their roots with the Lensman series by EE "Doc" Smith
Mel brooks knew this and did the GL like Schwartz ring in the movie
If you had a light saber and a power ring - makes more logical sense to combine the two, No?

Dedi
I see your Schwartz is as big as mine!
to the creator of this piece
Superb backstory - you sold me on it - nice crossover
This gets highmarks on the concept and backstory alone
nice little custom too - tho it wouldve been really cool if you got his lightsabere beam to come out his ring
(sounds painful LOL)

Great story that is what made this fig more than a repaint to me very nice
