Here is my third and final entry of "Pulsar" customs, thus completing the line that was originally introduced to the world by Mattel in 1976. This thing is massively huge and heavy! It was difficult to capture the scope of the project in 3 photos. I initially tried to do a collage of smaller pictures that showed all of the different features and functions, but decided to go with more "dynamic" pictures instead, as the bullet-point style pictures ended up looking too busy and cluttered. Anyway, this accessory comes with its own set of accessories including: 3 droids, an Igor-esque hunchbacked lab assistant, a human heart, a robotic leg, and a brain housed inside of a dome that fits over Pulsar's head. Features include: docking stations for the droids, a docking station for Pulsar's helmet/chest-piece (with strategically placed LED that lights up his helmet), a docking station for Pulsar's Mission Program Disc (with strategically placed LED that lights up scene), two articulated robotic arms for surgery, a third LED on a bendable stem to light up the surgical area, an x-ray/holographic image of a skeleton that changes if you look at it from different angles, an alien entity housed inside of a machine, and a cubby hole for the lab assistant to hide in. I used parts from a B-9 Lost In Space robot model kit, a stretcher from a McFarlane X-Files toy, McFarlane's Frankenstein play-set, hacked up pieces and wiring from a vintage Star Wars Y Wing Fighter, legs from a Mojo BAF, LEDs from the dollar store, about a million different little odds and ends from the fodder bin, and a clipboard for the base. This is my first custom play-set and it was a welcome challenge to both clean out the fodder bin and try to make something cool and unique out of it (that captures the "feel" of the original toy), while avoiding having it look like a bunch of random junk that was glued together with no rhyme or reason ha ha! Thanks for checking it out and no worries my friends I got your back! ![]() |

You've made some really unique, fascinating figures, but this vehicle is out of bounds.
It's inspired. All these different pieces come together really nicely.
Nice job.
