Boromir (Lord of the Rings) Custom Action Figure
20 points of articulation 18 of which are hidden under chain mail and leather Looking back i just realized that with all the cloth, home-made chainmail, and leather-like material used to hide almost all of the joints (except for the ankles), this would pas as a 1/12 scale doll!!!! Anyway i love the character. i think Boromir is so underrated. Please wait... |

I'm a big fan of using mixed materials, and this is masterful work. The "chainmail" is impressive, as is the rest of the piece.
Inspiring.
for Carlos1, anthrpoid, and deadeyesamurai:
here are the details:
1. base fig: 6" superposeable captain boromir: side by side comparison below
2. alterations: extended legs and torso, replaced hands with Eomer ROTK,
repainted face twice.
3. clothing: layer 1 is a homemade chainmail uh... tunic?
layer 2 (red coat) sewn leatherette type
layer 3 toybiz Punisher coat
pants stretchable cloth glued over legs to hide knee joints
4. accesories from Boromir superposeable
I made this fig 2 years ago. Posted in in A-f .com Chainmail's no secret. it was sort of knitted by my mom. wasn't her intention but I thought they looked like chainmail if if you place one layer on top of the other. Material is thicker than string but thinner than yarn . Thankx again!
I love the use of materials in this and you covered up the articulation with it
did you also slightly resculpt the face? or give it one of your amazing paintjobs that makes it look resculpted
Out of so many customisers I hold in very high regard here - you can paint something and totally change its look just with a repaint
What did you use for the leather and chainmail man?
LOL cmon - spills some trade secrets - no ones going to touch you in terms of skill anytime soon
Well maybe Hemble and Anthropoid
Superb work!!!
