So, I've been collecting figures for a long time now, and for the most part I've been content, for better or worse, to leave them more or less as they were when I got them. But after picking up one of the Legacy Mr. Freeze figures for cheap (the box was beaten up, but the figure was fine) I reconsidered that standing... Whoever allowed that figure to go out on the market with that bizarre paint app needs to be taken out and beaten.

As it happened though, I had all these painting supplies hanging around from my RvB Mega Bloks (which I'm still working on, I'm just waiting on some stuff to ship... I'm gonna try a technique out for caboose's helmet) so I went ahead and spent the evening repainting him... and voila, a Mr. Freeze who is now quite possibly the most cool looking figure in my Batman comic collection.

The paint apps were to match Mr. Freeze's look from the vintage Super Powers action figure.

You know, I don't mind repainting them to match the classic looks, and I understand going back to the old toy lines (the MOTU line is based entirely on that premise) but this was not the toy they should have done it with. I realize Batman Legacy is more of Mattel's "everything Bat-related gets dumped here" line, but it's billed as a fairly serious Batman line, and throwing goofy-looking freeze in there negates that. Super Powers style Freeze would have fit much better in the DCUC line.

Lol "taken out and beaten" the original paint apps were pretty horid though and a nice cool dark tone was all Freeze needed to be taken seriously by Batman again. Iam sure Batman died laughing after catching a glimpse of Freeze in his factory released colors. Nice job though.
