hahahaha! wow quite a circus you have here. it seems that you kids have to be spoon fed. okay let me further explain: you use the basic normal proportion as you basis for exageration or dynamics. Jim Lee (along with most popular comicbook artist) knows this. they know the basic proportion of a normal figure which on the average is 6 heads tall. A dynamic or you typical hero figure is more than 6 heads tall. Won't be giving too much away coz you people are to proud to listen.
Well I guess scouting new talent isn't as easy as I'd hope. I've been advised that it's easier to get people who apply for the job. thanx for proving me wrong. As a parting note: stay humble, don't be too emotional, and keep on learning. Thank you for your time guys! It's been entertaning!

this is my fault Doc, I started this guy off today by bashing him for not being more specific about criticisms. I'll go do 40 Hail Marvels and do an act of modification.

Hey Kyle thought I'd intervene here and say that you don't need to retake the picks I know firsthand what you mean by the lighting issue. As you and everyone else constantly remind me. lol As far as the wings yes I would like bigger wings but thats me. But this guy microboards here is making absurd claims and unless he can prove himself I have to say he is full of it. I have never heard so much garbage coming out of one person. And he is not only passed the point of rude he has passed the point of belivability. I mean come on lets be real honest here by a conformation of all those reading this who believes this guy works for DCDirect? Not me and unless he can prove this I am not going to listen to this putz. And even if he did work for DCdirect really they're figs arenot the best out there.

LOL you did NOT just try to claim proportion as your logic, you do actually notice that the majority of Comic characters are grossly out of proportion right?
ummm from the same place that says "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone"?

No, I can take crit just fine... I just don't dig it when know it alls state opinion as fact. Thats all.... If your gunna slam my work I have the right to defend it, am I wrong?
So go ahead and post any and all of your opinions, I'm not affended at all. but expect me to have the same right in return to defend my work and add 2nd point of veiw to your one sided opinion....
and for the record... youve past the point of criticism and now your just being a jerk.

Listen... I don't care about other liquidisk or any other peoples archangel... This is kyles arechangel. and there you go again stating your own opinion as fact. I think the head is perfect, in fact it is the head off XMC archangel that had a body half the size as mine and it still fit that figure..
I will fix the wings but I'll be damned if I touch those horrible XMC angel wings, I find them hiddous and ridiculous.
Do you make customs? If so, make one better than mine. then you can slam my work.

oh I'm not finished. Not all toys that come out of the factory are smooth. It's either the punisher figure is pretty rough or its your paint application. Anyone can tell that this doesn't compare to your other flawless almost perfect customs. Lighting schmiting. the lighting is probably rough too.
PS
sorry moderators/regulators for posting another reply. Just thought it's better to make a new 'reply' that having to re-edit my original message 4 times. It's more truthful this way.

oh goody improvements. Sorry I wasn't clear about the wings being WIDER. what I meant was the WING SPAN ISN'T WIDE ENOUGH. IT ISN'T PROPORTION to the body. what we see in the picture are his wings folded. check out Jim Lee's art in XMEN no. 1. Your's arent folded at all. they are just small. Don't get me wrong. I'm only saying this coz this fig doesn't look as good as your other works. XMC wings look much better than your painted 2D cardboard-cut-outs. Oh and his head is too big. check Liquidsk Archangel in Fwoosh.

Well first off, it is finished and IMO is very acurate to the Jim Lee art.... The wings I understand, and will most likely fix (not the way you said though, but the way VP said)... and as for the body... there is NO gloss coat and IMO does not need to be sanded down... the punisher body is already smooth, sanding would be pointless and only cause more texture problems. Your crit is not helpfull at all to me, sorry, but its very one sided and opinionated. It may look unfinished to you, but to me it looks flawless in the style I want. The wings may improve when I get the time but only to be more 3D... the original Angel wings from the XMC line are NOTHING like Jim lee's Art and I think they are very ugly.
I don't mind your crit, but be sure you can back it up... You can't just say it WOULD BE better if the wings were wider cause I don't agree. That is a mater of opinion, and also would not be accurate to the sprite of the Jim Lee character reference
And doc, your crit is well heard as well.... But its not my paint aps, its just the way the light is hitting his chest texture/muscle. I bet If I reshot the pics and submitted it you guys would say "thats much better man" and I wouldn't even have to do a thing. If you won a FO pun look at it. His chest is smooth but has slight muscle texture.
And thanks VP for opening the flood gates of bad crit...lol

The paint on the chest looks kinda rough compared to some of the other stuff you've painted, but otherwise it's pretty accurate, which is the sole purpose of it.

my bad thanks for pointing it out. body needs to be sanded down. the dry brushing and gloss coat only emphasizes the roughness of the figure. it would be better if if wings were wider. and each part, the metal strands, were made with spaces in between. instead of just painting black paint as a substitute for the actual spaces. Or better yet, he couldve used the original wings of the XMC angel. I'm sure Kyle knows all of this so I never bothered being specific.

If you're gonna throw out a criticism like that you need to follow it up with some clarification. What EXACTLY about this figure doesn't look finished to you? What about it specificaly looks rough?
Most of us can handle some constructive criticism - in fact we need it to improve, and when you post a one liner that says "looks pretty roughly made like wip. would look great if finished" it is difficult to target improvements based on the vague statement.
take the example of TPCustomstudio who says: "add some bends to the wings" (Paraphrased). This is a good example of constructive criticism. Perhaps you could post pics of the one you made so that you can show us what you mean by finished. So thanks for posting, and welcome to Figure Realm! We can always use someone who will tell us what needs to be fixed on our customs so that we can improve, just please remember to be specific when you have a comment.

I think you would lie j/k Anyway, I agree with him Kyle, You add a bend to each wing to give it that extra boost of realism. I see you are super busy cranking these xmen out for the con and stuff is sure to get past ya... that's what we are here for , to help. And as far this is the only thing I see wrong with any of your Xmen for the con. Excellent work as usual.

I think it's I don't like how you made them. I know they look accurate, but the flatness just throws me. It just feels like they should be more three dimensional. Like maybe the part on the top that looks like a fold should be another piece of card? I dunno, it just throws me for some reason when I look at it.

the wings are my fave part... they look just like they do on the cover of #1. Do you not like them in general (jims style) or do you not like the way I made them (kyle Style) Cause I think they are pretty accurate.

hey Kyle - great work on this figure. I like the xmc archangel, but he's too scrawny and can barely stand up under the weight of his wings. great job bulking this figure up and great paint job - very clean.
