As part of my little 2000ad project- I present my "Mean Machine" Angel. Mean is a famous character from the comics and was one of the few good characters from the god awful Dredd film with Sly Stallone. Mean has a disk on his forehead that at each click of the dial he headbutts people, animals, buildings, anything, and as the numbers rise from 1 to 4 so does the ferocity of his headbutts and anger! Being stuck on number 4 ios not a good place to be as Mean often completely loses control at that point. He has had many run ins with Dredd in the past. I liked the character so a figure was a natural progression. Base figure: Superhero Showdown Wolverine- this figure was ideal for me- didn't take a lot of work- I cut one arm off at the shoulder and I made the robotic arm from the figure stand "arm" that you get with the showdown figures. A few scrap bits to make it look more robotic and Mean has his moveable robot arm. The hand can also twist round at the wrist- the hand was made out of the claw from the Gi Joe Rex "The Doctor" Lewis, with a couple of fingers removed The head is from McFarlanes Monsters "Frankenstein" figure. It took a bit of work to get it to fit the ball joint on the base figure, but I liked the angle that it worked at to give Mean the hunched look. A paint job on the base figure and head to create Metal parts and a little plasticard disc to create the dial on Means head. A quick dry brush over the jeans to give the impression of dust- Man lives out in the Cursed Earth- an radioactive wasteland outside of Mega City 1. I think ol' Mean looks a surly SOB- what do you think? feedback etc cheers Fant0mas ![]() |

Every aspect fo this custom rocks but I think you need a slightly more expressive face for mean.
I used an AOE burned variant wolverine face on mine and did a bit of remodelling on him - elongating jaw etc.
But kudos dude nonetheless - great job
re the Dredd movie- it looked great but Rob Schneider?? comedy sidekick? no thank you! the look of the film and the production was very good- I liked the costume design, the sets and the ABC warrior amongst other things, but things like Dredd taking the helmet off, awful cliche catchphrase ("I knew you'd say that"
the new Dredd film hopefully will be better... fingers crossed
