Hey guys… I'm hooked on posting here lately. I have a whole shelf(ves) full of figures just waiting to see the light of RGB. I've been doing this for nearly 6 years now and I'm having areal time with it with these DCU figures. I am proud to announce that this is my 80th figure to post on FigureRealm, and what more appropriate than the source of all my aspirations: The very first appearance of Superman from Action Comics No. 1. I took a DCU superman body and swapped out the lower legs with Golden Age Green Lantern for the bootlaces (ballerina slippers). The head is from Shazam for that rounder, squinty, featureless look. The body is completely primed (with chest emblem applied first) then painted to correct colors and then its off to the cape. AS always this is a pull through cape inserted into the from of the body just above the collar bone area and then tightened in the back of the body cavity and hot glued into place so it doesn't slip back out. ( I PROMISE I WILL DO A TUTORIAL ONE DAY). The photo is treated with a sepia filter straight out of Mac's preview to give it that slightly dingy newsprint look. I nearly tried to do a photo with a '39 Mercury overhead but I didn't want to crush the guy.. He's pretty wobbly as is. The paint job could actually be better but it was a figure I've been waiting to do for a while so I did make a rush of it. This photo's kinda small I'm betting but I'll post a new one soon enough… maybe. Please wait... |
