I have seen some AWESOME Gambit customs here on the Realm but I wanted to come up with a version of my own. But of course my version is heavily influenced by HiddenCloud and Loosecollector's Gambit customs. First off I wanted to find a different head. Gambit is supposed to be a pretty boy/ ladies man so I wanted a face that represented that. After an extensive search I came up with the Birds of prey Angel from the X-men Classics series. Then I had to sculpt his hair and that was a big problem. Every attempt I made looked like crap...literally. It either looked like corn rolls or rolled doggie poo. So I modded Madman's hair and I think it turned out decent. I wanted to use a different trench coat so I tried using the Spirit coat but it was too big and the Nick Fury's coat was just too perfect so I went with that. But with the Fury coat the shoulder's rarely look right. So I used a bigger shoulder joint and I think it looks better. Gambit's costume has always been a bit too bright and colorful for my taste, so I was just going to paint him black and silver. After consulting Pulpyfiction he convinced me to add some of Gambit's trademark colors. So I followed his advice and made his color muted with a worn leather look. I tried metallic blue for his boots but it just didn't look right so I left them silver. Thanks for looking and comments are always appreciated.

Recipe:

Head and kneepads: Birds of Prey Angel
Hair: Madman
Body: Bulleye
Coat and arms: Ultimate Nick Fury
Boots: Superpatriot

hey! cool looking gambit! the hair looks good on him. and about the boots, you could also mix some silver and blue and dry brush it over a black base. it would give a great metallic paint effect without using any metallic paints.

anyways. great looking gambit man! I haven't tried making a gambit myself, hope it turns out as good as this when the time comes.

That is great suggestion on the paints, the only way I knew how to pull off metallic colors is to base paint in black, dry brush silver than use tamiya clear paints over the top. Didn't work on this custom but next time I am going to use your method for sure, thanks for the tip. I always appreciate pointers from guyz whose works I greatly admire.

Fantastic! I've been working up the courage to start on a Gambit like this. I too like a darker, less bright-(word that rhymes with glass) purple color palette. lol. Great job.
